When you imagine an escape to the rural world, in the heart of Minho region, surrounded by wild plants and herbs, birds, wild rabbits and cattle, immersed in a harmonious and quiet environment, very typical of the villages of Northern Portugal, then this place was made thinking of you! A typical country house, inserted in lands previously belonging to the Portuguese Crown, restored in full respect of its moth, with natural materials and ancestral techniques. A hymn to the rural and authentic! The space A farm with several buildings. The property and its outdoor spaces have recently been restored by the founder of the International Festival Garden of Ponte de Lima and former responsible for Natural Parks and Protected Areas of Portugal! Here the native flora predominates with centenary trees, wild herbs and a vast collection of aromatic herbs, from where we prepare the infusions served during the stay. Rustic gardens, orchard and vegetables in organic production are at guests' disposal. All with the use of animal manure and vegetal wastes with production techniques without chemical pesticides, to keep alive the tradition and the authentic flavor of the fruits and vegetables, in homage to the Nature and to our Great-Grandparents Rosa and Casimiro. In the centennial tank of running water, dozens of species of birds, wild rabbits and sheep drink, while the Iberian frogs croak in spontaneous symphony! The house is reference for many details of the vernacular architecture of the Minho region. Its reconstruction was made using traditional materials, with various types of wood, clay and granite of the region. Polychrome iron oxides with linseed, lime and alvaiade oils replaced the inks, environmentally friendly and to restore the authenticity of 19th century architecture. All these materials were already used in the past in this house and we made a point of using them again, proving that it can be done differently and as a memory of the legacy and teachings of our great ancestors! The property consists of several farm buildings with two main houses, each of them with three bedrooms (each with private bathroom), an eqquipped kitchen, interconnected with the living room and a dining room! The sober interiors are full of details and artifacts of portuguese rural lifestyle and with blankets of wool and rags made on the loom by the hands of the Great-Grandmother Rosa. Outside, enjoy your family meals in the old barn, do a barbecue, enjoy the sun, dive in the clear waters, take a walk through the farm, the old village or along the mythical Portuguese Way of Santiago...! Guest access Guests will have access to the whole house, laundry, old barn with barbecue, protected garage, protected porch, children mezanino with library,gardens, vegetable garden, fruit trees, private free parking area, open pool in granite. Other things to note Do not forget that this is a rural property where the singing of birds, the croaking of frogs and the natural expressions of the wild or domestic animals can often interrupt the silence so characteristic of this nook.
