Culmstock Shepherd's Hut

A quiet place, with basic washing facilities & camping toilet. Bathroom, with shower usually available between 8am - 8pm. We offer various amenities, including a barbecue & hammock. There is a small wood burning stove, a double bed and sofa/seating area, & a fridge in the hut. Tea/coffee available. Wifi is okay, but we cannot guarantee it will be available 24/7. Also, although we love children & dogs, it really is not suitable for them as it would be too cramped, perfect for 2 adults! The space The village with pub (Culm Valley Inn) and cafe (Strand Stores) are 1 mile down the road. Good area for walking (popular walks by the River Culm). The pub (a mile down the road) offers great food, though booking is recommended. There is an outside eating area. The Strand Stores is open for paninis with salads & excellent scotch eggs, pasties, sausage rolls, not to mention a vast array of cakes. Opening hours are 8am - to 6pm on week days & Saturday, and 9.30am to 12.30 on Sundays. Breakfasts are not available but you can get breakfast paninis. Guest access Parking is normally on the road outside our house, but sometimes we have parking available in front of our garage in the grounds of our house. The village is about a 15 minute walk away. We will give you directions on the back roads, as the main road isn't pleasant to walk down. Parking at the pub is limited, but there are other places to park in the village. Other things to note There are toilet facilities in the Shepherd's Hut area but you will need to come into the house for showers, where you can also use the toilet if the camping one is not your 'thing'!
