Description

Charge your electric vehicle in our driveway while you walk 1 block either direction to great restaurants, trendy bars, and world class shopping. The streetcar and a topnotch hospital are 5 blocks away. Trader Joes is next door and the entrance to one of the biggest urban parks, Washington Park, is a third of a mile away. This 1 bdrm guest room in a large single family home that has a private entrance, kitchenette, no shared spaces with household, backyard access, and driveway parking. The space As of June 2021, we're the newest owners of this home built in 1903. Before us it was housing for international students for 18 years. We’ll be doing some remodeling starting in late summer ‘21 beginning with adding another Airbnb on the ground floor. Our guest room Airbnb is NW facing with a double bed and a kitchenette. The bedroom has charming built-ins where you'll find magazines and books on Portland and Oregon hot spots. It also has high ceilings and great light from a large north and west facing windows. In July we add the AC window unit to keep you cool during heatwaves. The TV streams Netflix, HBO, Prime, and Hulu. Coffee/tea, drip coffee maker, electric water kettle, filtered water, microwave, and small refrigerator provided. Baby gear like stroller, high chair, changing table, and a portable crib can be provided upon request and costs $10 a day for this bundle. It's also above a full Airbnb apartment with a kitchen; so if you need more space or are traveling with another couple or have kids, let us know, and we can check this downstairs Airbnb’s availability. Guest access There is an outdoor space in the backyard that you're welcome to use but it's a bit of a mess due to the construction so be careful, especially using the wobbly stones along the footpath. Other things to note If you’re traveling with more people and are in need of more Airbnbs close by, look no further. We have two others on the same premises; please note, however, that they are pet free. Large bedroom with a Queen bed and kitchenette: https://airbnb.com/h/walkers-paradise Studio with double bed and full kitchen: https://airbnb.com/h/walk-2-everything (back online summer of ‘25) Combining the two above for parties of 4: https://airbnb.com/h/central-location-parking (back online summer of ‘25) Three things about noise: 1. We have an old creaky staircase close to the Airbnb (but not overhead); our weekday mornings start around 7:30am; weekends closer to a 9 start time. 2. We have 3 kiddos ages 10-13 whose mouths & limbs appear at times to be out of their control at speeds beyond talking/walking, and we're moms who at times shout out orders like set the table, etc. It's your average household noise, but given the ages we thought to mention it here. We try to keep quiet after 10:30pm in the evenings, and we make it a point to be aware of our noise levels at all times and be respectful of our guests. Shari and I welcome texts that we can act on right away so do not hesitate calling this to our attention at anytime. I personally enjoy the power your texts wield over our kids-- truly more effective than a mom saying anything;) 3. You're smack dab in middle of the nightlife of the NW neighborhood and bars close at 2am. Windows are double-paned to cut down the urban noise, but do let us know please if we should also include a noise machine in the room. *** > Our Airbnb includes a charging station for electric vehicles. We have a ChargePoint so can clearly see how much a charge will be and we mark up 50% over the home rate. We’ll send you a screen capture and you can pay via the Airbnb app or other cash apps. >Final note: your room will have an AC unit in the summer and its own additional heating source (in addition to the central radiating heat) in the winter.
