Chez Emmot is a perfect retreat, secluded amongst the vineyards and orchards of the Bordeaux countryside. The large garden has plenty of relaxation space for guests to enjoy plus the orchard and herb garden provide some edible delights. The space The house is located in approx. an acre of land so there is plenty of space for adults and children alike to play, sunbathe, relax kick a ball around etc. We have garden games onsite such as lawn draughts, boule, noughts and crosses, plus balls and badminton rackets for the sporty. There is also an inflatable adult-sized paddling pool you can put up for cooling off. Guests can help themselves to any available fruit in the orchard. Depending on the season, there are apricots, plums, apples, pears, figs, nectarines and persimmons (need to be bleated before eating!) which guests can pick and eat. The nectarines especially are delicious! There are also lots of herbs for foodies who love to cook. You enter the house on the 1st floor (house built into the side of the bank). The main living and sleeping spaces are on this floor. There is an open plan, kitchen, dining and living area with a log-burning stove - ideal for those staying on Wintery nights. A corridor takes you to the bedrooms (2 double bedrooms, 1 twin room), the bathroom (bath, shower, sink) and a separate toilet. There is an additional 4th bedroom with a double futon bed downstairs. Please note whilst this room is in a contained bedroom with a window you will need to walk through the basement area and is minimally furnished. We do not allow children to sleep down here as there is paint and other harmful substances in the basement. The steps down also have a gap on one side near the bottom that small children could fall through. There is a handrail on the other side. Guest access Guests have full access of the house and garden. There are 3 bikes in the garage plus helmets etc which guests can use. Please note these are not serviced or maintained and are for use at your own risk. Other things to note There is a travel cot and a highchair available for any babies staying. There are also baby toys/games/books, a play pen, rocker and a buggy in the basement for use if required.
