Stanley Ghyll Cottage is a picture perfect, detached, 500 year old, 4 star graded self-catering holiday cottage in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Within walking distance are England's highest mountain, Scafell and its deepest lake, Wastwater. Also, England's steepest road, Hardknott Pass, & its oldest working water mill, Boot Mill. The village has 2 local pubs serving excellent food and a variety of traditional ales both within 200 yards of the cottages. The space Stanley Ghyll has an open plan fully equipped kitchen and dining area. The bedroom with kingsize bed and a marble ensuite shower room are also on the ground floor. There is one step down from the dining area to the bedroom. The cosy snug with TV and full Sky Sports and Movies is upstairs. Fibre optic wi-fi is installed in the cottage so it is easy to stay in touch with family and friends and research holiday activities. We can accept one large or two small, well behaved dogs in Stanley Ghyll Cottage (no puppies under 12 months old please). All dogs must be booked in. We put in a dog treat, throws for our leather sofas, dog towels for dirty paws and we do an extra special deep clean afterwards. Dog Fees are per dog, payable in advance and are: £50 per week, £40 for breaks of 4-6 nights and £30 for short breaks of 1-3 nights. This charge can be invoiced directly to the guest. We do have some easy to follow dog rules and these must be adhered to as we have communal gardens and young children playing in them. Thank you. Guest access Stanley Ghyll Cottage is exclusively for guest's private use. Stanley Ghyll has access to a secret garden through an archway behind Stanley Ghyll's parking spot. This is rarely used by other guests. Stanley Ghyll guests can also use the shared paddock gardens and riverside picnic spot which run alongside the Whillan Beck.
