Welcome to the Artist Haven, a charming standalone cottage nestled in the peaceful Tuscan countryside, surrounded by olive trees and a beautiful garden. The cottage has been lovingly and tastefully furnished by the hosts—two artists—to offer an inspired and relaxing experience in the heart of the most authentic Tuscany. Just 8 kilometers from the historic center of Lucca, the Haven is the perfect retreat for those seeking peace and quiet after a day of exploring the area's many wonders. The space The house accommodates up to 4 guests and is perfect for couples, friends, or families looking to relax in the Tuscan countryside. Notice: we have three friendly dogs. Each room has a large ceiling fan. The house is very cool even in summer because it has very thick walls and it is comfortable and cool even in the middle of August! The Artist Haven features: - Two bedrooms, each with a double bed - Two spacious private bathrooms, both with a bathtub and shower - A cozy living area with a fireplace and large dining table - A fully equipped kitchen - A walk-in closet, also useful for storing sports equipment - A spacious, well-equipped laundry room Outdoor Spaces & Atmosphere: The house sits in an olive grove, surrounded by peace and nature. In winter, you can unwind by the fireplace, and on sunny days, enjoy outdoor meals under the grapevine pergola on the veranda. The interiors are lovingly decorated in authentic Tuscan style, with great attention to detail and comfort. We have recently completed our natural swimming pond (bio-lago)—a peaceful, chemical-free oasis where you can take a refreshing dip in crystal-clear water. Filtration is done entirely through selected aquatic plants and natural rocks, keeping the water clean in an environmentally friendly way. It’s a truly relaxing experience, with a beautiful view of the valley. Please note: the pond is shared with us, but we use it only occasionally. Location & Activities: The Haven is ideal for: - Anyone seeking peace and quiet to focus on a creative project - Relaxing after a day at the beach in Versilia - Exploring the Garfagnana mountains - Visiting art cities like Lucca, Pisa, and Florence - Walking in the woods or cycling along the Serchio River bike path Local Experiences & Products: - We produce our own organic extra virgin olive oil, winner of a prestigious national award—you’re welcome to taste it (and buy it, if you’d like!) - In the mornings, enjoy our seasonal fruit jams, prepared with produce from our garden - Just a short drive away, Lucca offers excellent restaurants where you can discover authentic Tuscan cuisine (ask us for recommendations!) Guest access To reach the Haven and get around the area, having a car is essential. We offer ample parking, and it's possible to drive up to just a few meters from the house entrance to unload your luggage. The house is equipped with Wi-Fi, a washing machine, and a dishwasher, ensuring a comfortable and stress-free stay. We also offer the option of a dedicated workspace, complete with an external monitor. We provide bed linen, towels, and table linens (tablecloths and napkins), all included. Other things to note For stays longer than two weeks, we kindly ask guests to cover the cost of three hours of cleaning per week, for each week beyond the second. Cancellation policy: please refer to the terms listed in the booking conditions. Our three dogs (two small dachshunds and a medium-sized mixed breed) are friendly and well-behaved. Please note that separate waste collection is mandatory in the municipality of Lucca. We kindly ask you to follow the instructions provided in the house and to dispose of your waste in the correct bins located just outside the property, along the road. We’ll be happy to assist you with this task to help protect the environment and comply with local regulations. Guests staying in winter will have access to scheduled heating, available from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM and again from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM. If you wish to extend heating hours, we ask for an extra contribution of €20 per day. A fireplace is also available: we provide the first basket of firewood for free, and then €10 per each additional basket.
