Description
A lovingly converted self-contained farmhouse annexe within Brecon Beacons National Park, this little mountainside retreat is the perfect base for hill walkers, cyclists, nature enthusiasts and outdoor explorers - or anyone seeking peace and beautiful views while being situated just 20 minutes’ drive from the M4. The space Bumpers Farm was originally built in 1758. In former times it was used as a drovers’ inn and on older documents is listed as Bumpers Inn. Nowadays it is maintained as a hobby farm, with pet sheep, free range chickens, dogs and ponies. It is positioned right on the Black Mountain, with miles of walks or cycle routes accessed directly from the property. The listed annex is a converted stable, and as such the internal living space is limited, including areas of restricted headroom. The bedroom is a mezzanine floor with velux window set into the sloping ceiling. The layout downstairs is open plan, with staircase, seating area and small kitchenette sharing the space. The bathroom consists of toilet, hand basin and wetroom shower. Please note there is no bathtub. Original stonework has been left exposed where possible to maintain the character of this beautiful centuries-old stable building. Guest access Guests are welcome to wander in our fields, meet the sheep and ponies and generally enjoy their stay on the farm. * PLEASE NOTE * no bikes are to be taken into the cottage. There is ample covered storage space for bikes, which can be locked if needed. Other things to note We are animal lovers and wish we could welcome all pets to Bumpers Stable: however we recognise that due to its small size and lack of a separate 'muddy dog' area it is not the ideal holiday accommodation for a large or for more than one dog. We will consider each request individually so please don't be afraid to ask. Horses are also welcome and can be stabled or corralled. There is fantastic outriding with the Black Mountain stretching towards the Brecon Beacons right on the doorstep. A pet fee of £50 will be added automatically upon booking.
