The "Annex" is a conversion of one of a small group of stone barns that make up Willow Barn. It has the prime view of the manicured lawn, carefully tended flowerbeds and pool, with it's longest side and two upstairs dormers facing exactly south. Once partly an artist's studio, the open plan downstairs is wonderfully light and airy, and its peaceful location on a no through road make it ideal for a relaxing getaway or a place to come and be inspired by the local Dorset history and landscapes. The space The Annex was intended and kitted-out to be entirely self-contained. The kitchen has a full compliment of crockery, cutlery, pots and utensils and also a dishwasher and washing machine. Although the annex shares the property with the main house, where the English Country Gent responsible for the beautiful garden lives, you get the prime view of the lawns and flowers, and with only a few small windows (with blinds of course) facing back towards the main property you can enjoy a great deal of privacy during your stay. Please note that the English Country Gent may be an occasional presence in his garden, tending the beds or mowing (once a week in Summer). That lawn looks as good as it does for a reason! Rest assured he will have his mind on his work and will leave you to your holiday. The downstairs is large and open and a great place to relax. It is worth noting that the two bedrooms are in the dormer roof of the property and do have some limited headroom when you are climbing into bed. There is a dryer in the main property garage which guests may use during their stay though you will need to let us know so we can open the doors. There is also a sheila's maid in the pool room which is always warm. We try to be as plastic-free as possible in the consumables we offer for your stay. For instance, there will be a lovely natural soap bar in the bathroom and we refill washing up liquid and laundry liquid from our stores. Please note that the pool is open May through to September only. Guest access You will have the run of the annex and the pool area during your stay. You are welcome to explore, admire and rest in the garden also, but this is a shared space with the family house. Please note that the pool, while not visible from the main family home or neighbouring properties, is visible from the garden (please see pictures). For this reason I have labelled the pool as a shared space. We give guests exclusive use of the pool during their stay, and do our upmost to make ourselves scarce and respect their privacy when they are enjoying the pool, however please be aware that there may be family members tending the garden at any time. Other things to note Please note that the English Country Gent will be coming and going in the garden, particularly in Summer, which may include a once-weekly mow of the lawn. The internet is not particularly fast, and the speed varies. Sometimes you can watch streaming TV such as Netflix, if you bring your own device, but using video conference calls can be frustrating. For this reason, we have removed WiFi from the listing amenities. It is not recommended for individuals hoping to work from home while staying.
