The Lavender Cottage - Picturesque Astley Abbotts

The Lavender Cottage provides self-catering accommodation in a beautiful rural setting with fantastic views and a tranquil atmosphere. The cottage has been extensively renovated to thoroughly modern standards. Patio doors open out on to a lovely south facing terrace and the garden stretches out to views over open fields and beautiful Astley Abbotts village. National cycle routes, public footpaths and the historic towns of Bridgnorth, Ironbridge & Much Wenlock are within easy reach. The space A superb barn conversion, set amidst beautiful rolling Shropshire countryside, just two miles from the pretty market town of Bridgnorth, eight miles from the lovely priory, shops and pubs at Much Wenlock and only six miles from the historic town of Ironbridge. The building was formerly used as part of a pick your own lavender farm as a tearoom and for gardening classes run by my grandmother but has now been converted, decorated and furnished to a high standard as a holiday cottage. The cottage offers warm, welcoming accommodation that is an ideal place for relaxing and recharging the batteries. The cottage is surrounded by its own private garden which is visited by lots of wildlife such as hedgehogs, woodpeckers, pheasants, tree creepers, owls and ravens to name a few. In summary the cottage includes: • One superking bedroom with en-suite: • One king bedroom; • One twin bedroom (with single & pull out single); • Further large family bathroom (separate shower and bath); • Fully fitted open plan kitchen-living room; • Wood burning stove in the living area; • South facing terrace and private garden; • 32” TV, Wifi, books and games. Guest access The cottage is surrounded by a private garden and lovely terrace overlooking the beautiful views across Astley Abbotts. Outdoor garden furniture is provided which is ideal for picnics and al-fresco dining in the all-day sun. Generally unless walking or cycling, you will need a car for getting around. The cottage has room for up to four cars if needed. Other things to note Discounts are available for longer stays, and we are also very flexible about arrival day and short stays (minimum 3 nights). Our pricing is designed to cover everything except the cleaning fee, so there are no extras for towels, linen or electricity etc. One large basket of dried logs and kindling is provided and more can be purchased in Bridgnorth. The cottage is usually stocked with tea, coffee, and some basic cooking ingredients to help your stay. Unfortunately we are not able to accommodate pets. If required an infant’s cot and high chair can be added upon request. The International Conference Center in Telford is approximately 20-25 minutes drive away. A cleaning fee of £50 will be added to the total booking fee. EV charging upon request only for additional charge.
