Description
A great location for families/groups. Lake Villa Holiday Cottages comprise Nuthatch Cottage which sleeps 2 with a king bedroom, next door is Swallow Barn with one king room and one triple room, and then Lake Villa with one double, one king with en-suites, and a triple room also en-suite. We have a 1 acre garden with tennis court, 25 acres of meadow with 2 lakes. Stunning Beaches and The South West coast path are about 8 miles away. Excellent pub in village with restaurant. The space In the North Devon village of Bradworthy is Lake Villa a lovingly restored 300 year old farmhouse. Three self-catering cottages in this peaceful location. It offers accommodation for up to 14 guests. The main cottage Lake Villa sitting room has 3 comfy sofas, smart TV and DVDs, and lots of guest information, books and games. We have a newly fitted a large wood burner in the inglenook fire place, and we are happy to supply extra logs at £5 per basket. From the lounge is a large conservatory with double door leading into the well established garden. The kitchen is very well equipped, with a large american style fridge and dishwasher, window overlooking the bird table and gardens. Outside, beyond the private patio, are the south-facing gardens and tennis court. There is also private parking for 6 cars. Opposite are 25 acres of meadow with 2 lakes, one for fishing. Next along is Swallow Barn, Swallow Barn has a glorious open-plan living/sitting area with comfy sofas and chairs and lots of exposed beams. There are extensive views across the gardens with bird feeders right outside. The kitchen is also found at this level and has a dishwasher and washing machine. There is a smart TV, games and books. As this cottage is ‘upside-down’ the two bedrooms (a double and a triple) and bathroom are downstairs. The bathroom has a bath with an electric shower. There is direct access to the south-facing gardens with lots of garden furniture and the tennis court. And finally Nuthatch Cottage, named after the pair of nuthatches which breed in the garden every year and can be seen on the bird table on the private terrace. The cottage can sleep two people and there is room in the double bedroom for a cot or z-bed too. The upside down layout means that the bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. Upstairs is an open-plan sitting/dining room and kitchen. There is a flat screen TV and lots of books, guest information and games. The French doors open from the lounge/dining room onto a private terrace with the south-facing gardens and tennis court beyond. The cottage is centrally heating in the cooler months making it cosy all year round. This is a great location for families/groups who love the great outdoors. As well as our own facilities (mentioned above), the best of the South West’s beaches are within 10 miles. The coast path, running the entire way around the south west peninsula is within 7 miles and offers spectacular walking. The Tamar Lakes are 3 miles away with kayaking, wind surfing and bird watching. The Tarka Trail, an off-road cycle track, is 7 miles away. The village of Bradworthy is less than half a mile away and has a pub (child and dog friendly) serving food everyday, a tea room and several shops. Other things to note The cottage is situated in a very quiet rural location, no flight path overhead and zero light pollution offering amazing night skies. The hidden lakes offer total tranquility and a haven for wildlife including kingfishers, otters, buzzards, dear, and in summer beautiful dragonflies. The lakes can be fished for golden rudd, tench and orff. Just 8 miles away is Sandymouth Beach the most stunning all year round dog friendly beach, at low tide great for walking, surfing and body boarding. We are a great place to stay if you want to walk the south-west coastal path.
