The room has all you need including a separate seating area. Up to 6 guests can be accommodated. The space Welcome to Aboyne and a comfortable stay. A wonderful home of modern comforts, welcome and elegance. Perfect to visit friends, walk, sightsee, fish and explore from. Very popular for local wedding venues. A warm welcoming space with modern facilities and spacious living but with a traditional feel. Centrally heated comfort but with an eclectic mix of antique and contemporary. I have two king sized bedrooms available. I also have an extra room should you require an additional third room. If you wish for tradition then a genuine Georgian Four poster double bed awaits. It has a separate private bath and shower room. En-suite Kingsize room. A very spacious en-suite room overlooks the garden to the front of the house. Lovely furnishings with good quality bed and mattress. The room has a mixture of antique and modern furnishings. There is plenty of hanging space. The room has an en-suite shower room, WiFi, hairdryer and tv. Tea and coffee facilities. Straighteners/heated rollers/ ironing board available. High speed Wireless Wifi available throughout the house. Please note wifi must not be used for any illegal streaming or downloading. Working office space and printer available. - additional room for teenage children. - Off road parking and free advice on local area. (local events are listed at the bottom of the page). - Drying room and rod storage available. - Secure bike storage and drying area. - A lovely garden with patio and pond area. - Garden sitting room with access to the garden. - Games/cards/local maps/dvd/library available. - Bus stop two minutes walk. 2019: fishers are especially welcome back to the Dee for the 2019 season. Excellent drying area and rod storage. Salmon fishing on the River Dee within walking distance. Fishing further afield can also be arranged on The Spey/Esks and Tay System around an hours journey with in house ghillie / guiding services as desired. A cooked breakfast and packed lunch provided for £12 daily. Locally tied top quality flies also available. Just a short distance from the Don, famed for wild brown trout fishing. The rivers Spey and Deveron are approximately an hours drive. Enjoy a home cooked two course meal for £18 per person, including a glass of wine. Ingredients are locally sourced. A village centre location minutes from amenities of local shops/attractions/salmon and trout fishing/ easy walking distance from restaurants and pub. Situated right beside the Deeside Way where you can cycle off road for miles to Ballater in scenic safety. Fantastic for; fishing /site seeing/walking/gliding/climbing/castle visiting/skiing and general relaxation. Stunning walks on the edge of the Cairngorm National Park. Easy distance to Balmoral, which is the Queen's second home. Kinord Nature Reserve is 6 miles away and several National Trust castles and gardens in the vicinity. Lots of golf nearby, including an 18 hole course in Aboyne and others at Ballater, Banchory, and Inchmarlo. If you are interested in whisky our nearest distillery is Royal Lochnagar near Balmoral. An hours journey north from us can incorporate many famous distilleries around the Spey Valley. I offer a varied buffet style continental breakfast. Traditional Porridge, made with stone-ground oatmeal served with fresh berries/local honey or your choice of extras. I am happy to cook a full Scottish breakfast for an additional cost of £10 per person. Food is locally sourced.... including the same sausages/black pudding as served to the queen! A cooked breakfast needs to be booked in advance. Location: - walking distance to theatre, swimming pool, park/ village green/coffee shops/ river and local pub. - Many local maps available for walkers to peruse. - Adjacent to the Deeside Way which gives off road cycling to Ballater where there are further restaurants and shopping. - Aboyne has a music and arts festival in July and an outdoor activity festival called 'Active Aboyne' in September. EVENTS; Many local Highlands Games occur in the summer months. Aboyne Highland Games is always on the first Saturday in August. In July Aboyne is the centre of a cultural festival which includes keynote authors and speakers, as well as art and drama events. Many local houses host events such as intimate classical/Jazz music evenings. 'Active Aboyne' (September) runs each year and includes many activities for the fit and not so fit. Love art? Then come and stay in September. Come and see the many open studios and exhibitions during NEOS (North East Open Studios) It is the largest art event of its kind in Scotland. Many of the studios are only open to the public during this event. Guest access Three public areas are available as well as office working space and access to a printer and scanner. There are bikes to borrow and drying areas for boots, rods and waders. During your stay I can help as much or as little as you wish. In the past I have done it all....ordered button holes for weddings, lent forgotten items, iced twisted ankles, consulted maps, booked restaurants, cooked meals, arranged guided fishing. Ask me I will help make your trip special or be left to your own peace and quiet. Other things to note Sonos sound system And Wifi There is a friendly, polite, black lab living here who can say hello or not.
