Description
Just a stone’s throw from Lake Most na Soči, on the edge of the forest, right by the village of Modrejce, stands Senko. A small wooden hut with a shape that looks like the traditional “kozolci” and “seniki”. Once a place to store hay, now a hut for those seeking something different. Everything here is simple and made by Hinko. And that’s what gives it its true charm. The space Senko is part of a small, family-run campsite called Senca. The campsite has two Senkos – Cherry and Chestnut. Both are set on higher ground within the campsite, with Cherry sitting at the top and Chestnut just a bit lower. The campsite also has around 20 tent pitches and plenty of open areas – so there’s always a quiet spot to find your peace. At Senca, everything is part of the experience. A short walk takes you to the forest, where there’s a small outdoor kitchen – just for Senko guests. The toilets and showers, located just 100 meters from the huts, are shared with the co-creators of our camp’s program and my family. They’re wooden and simple – just like everything else at our camp. Other guests of the campsite have their own facilities, so your area stays calm and a bit more private. Campsite Senca is not just a place to sleep - it’s a place where music, tasty food, and interesting activities come together. From June to early September, you can refresh yourself with a local craft beer, homemade elderflower syrup, or a scoop of ice cream at the Frnaža bar. There’s always good music playing – carefully chosen by us, the Fortunat family. Downtime is our vibe. If you are lucky, you can also catch an intimate concert – acoustic, jazz, or something completely different. The campsite also smells of delicious food. Almost every weekend, our place becomes a pop-up kitchen with something new to taste and experience — from local specialties to pad thai, pizzas, or even a five-course dinner. Twice a week, there’s guided exercise on the meadow – for those who like to start the day with a little movement. If you visit in May or early June, you’ll experience Senca at its most peaceful. The bar isn’t open yet, the Soča River shows off its most beautiful turquoise color, the valley is quiet, and you’ll share the campsite with just a few others. That’s when time slows down even more, and the real magic happens – peace, freedom, and connection with nature. Other things to note We are an excellent starting point for exploring the Soca Valley. You can go hiking, explore the hidden corners of Soča and Idrijca rivers by canoe, or take on more adrenaline activities – mountain biking, canyoning, rafting. If you prefer a slower rhythm, just stay at our campsite – wrap yourself in a good book, swing in a 3Cingl recliner, take a swim in the lake, and let time flow at its own pace. We’re just 6 km away from the festival grounds, where Butik, Punk Rock, Sajeta, and Tolminator take place. If you ever feel like taking a break from the festival buzz, we’re the perfect escape – if you can sort out the ride.
