Abbey Cottage, originally a Fisherman's cottage in the idyllic Cornish village of Mousehole, is now beautifully furnished, light and airy. Step out of the front door to enjoy views of the harbour, less than a minutes walk to the sandy beach. Suitable for 3 adults, a trundle bed in the smaller room, can be used for a 4th guest, ideal for a child. Three seater sofa, cushioned window seat, dining table and chairs means plenty of space to socialise SMART TV, Echo dot. Near to car parks & bus stop. The space Abbey Cottage has all the charm and character of a 150 year old cottage, yet has all the modern conveniences and luxury you’d expect in your holiday home. The kitchen is well equipped with fridge-freezer compartment, double electric oven with induction hob, washing machine, microwave, toaster, Qettle tap for instant boiling water and Nespresso coffee machine. New for 2025! A complete refurbishment of the ground floor, featuring underfloor heating, new kitchen units. In the understairs cupboard you will find domestic appliances; iron/ironing board. Together with beach chairs and towels should you forget your own! Even a picnic hamper and rug so that you can enjoy the harbour beaches. Small emergency sewing kit. High chair available for our younger guests. I leave tea bags, coffee, sugar, cooking oil and condiments to start you off. My husband and I also own Four Teas Cafe in the village, we welcome you to eat there during your stay, offering a discount on your first cooked meal. I’ve tried to create a relaxing haven for a couple or small family, to use as the perfect base to explore this wonderful part of the world. Guest access Entire cottage From Duck Street, enter through the stable style door into the living space. Comfortable 3 seater sofa, with extra seating and an enchanting window seat, contribute to the relaxing atmosphere of your holiday home. Underfloor heating gives a touch of modern day luxury. Fully fitted kitchen and rear stable door to shared outside access means light fills the downstairs area throughout the day. Carpeted stairs from the kitchen lead to the two bedrooms and bathroom. No dogs or outside shoes upstairs please. The delightful double room is clean and bright, with King size bed, bedside tables, wardrobe and plenty of drawer space. There's also room for a travel cot if required or request, in advance, if you wish the trundle bed from the single room be brought into here. We provide stair gates for both the top and bottom of the stairs if needed. Other things to note The main line train from Paddington terminates at Penzance, from where a short bus or taxi ride will bring you to Mousehole. The bus stop is at the harbour at the bottom of Duck St. Leave the car in the carpark and explore via train and bus to avoid negotiating the narrow Cornish lanes.
