The property has a wonderful rustic retreat feel to it, sure to relax and recharge in equal measure. It is surrounded by the Caragh river, lake and sea, and situated a mile from Glenbeigh village on the majestic Ring of Kerry. The space This expansive 4 bedroom house is finished to a high standard, with tasteful furnishings, solid oak floors and doors, and quality appliances. The house boasts a traditional sauna, jacuzzi bath and rain-forest showers. It has underfloor heating throughout, via an eco-friendly heating system. There are large outdoor patio areas, perfect for barbecues and enjoying the fresh unrivalled country air. The property is surrounded by trees and has a wonderful rustic hideaway feel to it. This is our permanent family home. We are making it available for a limited period while we're temporarily away, and take pride in sharing it with trusted travellers keen to experience a true taste of Kerry. The location is idyllic; with beautiful beaches, Caragh Lake and River, the excellent Dooks Golf Links and some of the finest hillwalking terrain in Ireland on your doorstep. Perfect rustic holiday base, especially for those interested in golfing, fishing, hillwalking, watersports, horse-riding or just touring this most beautiful part of Ireland. The house and surrounding area will also be particularly appealing to artists/writers/musicians looking to be inspired in a beautiful natural environment. The small charming village of Glenbeigh is just down the road and has a supermarket and a small selection of local shops, traditional pubs and restuarants. There are a couple of excellent gourmet restaurants in Cromane and Caragh Lake (3 miles away). Killorglin (6 miles) is a medium sized Irish town with a lively social scene and a wide array of pubs and restaurants to choose from. The town also boasts a good live music scene. Killarney (16 miles) is arguably the tourist capital of Ireland, with all associated attractions and amenities, including its famous national park. The area is well served by local taxis, should one wish to have a night on the town and leave the car at home. Further afield places of note include Dingle town and peninsula, Kenmare, Waterville and the awe-inspiring Skellig islands (25-40 miles). Apart from the great natural beauty of the area, this is a very historic and mythical part of Ireland, which features prominently in the great Irish folklore tales. There is even an ancient 'holy well' up the road from the house with alleged curative powers.
