Without electricity, my place is in the last true wilderness in Wales, close to The River Towy, forestry, upland hills with rocky outcrops, standing stones and stone circles. You’ll love my place because of the outdoors space, the light, the dark skies a level of solitude hard to find anywhere else. The sound of the car is replaced by the cry of the red kite. Enquire about accommodation for disabled people. The space Dolgoch Hostel is an old farmhouse. You will have your own 6 bedded room with shared self catering kitchen and Common Room with shared showers and toilets. Guest access There is a resident volunteer warden who has his/her own accommodation, but shares the hostel kitchen. He/she will know the area very well and will be able to advise you about local walks etc and will be able to sort out any problems which may arise. You will be given a door code for access during your stay. Enquire about accommodation for less able people. During your stay There will be a warden at the hostel who has his/her own ensuite room, but shares hostel kitchen. All of our volunteer wardens know the area very well, so can offer good advice on local walks etc Other things to note There is no electricity, but water is heated and batteries charged via solar panels. There is some LED lighting, but only torchlight in bedroom Sorry, dogs not allowed. There is a BBQ on the patio for guests use, but fires outside the hostel are not allowed due to the risk of wild fires in this remote area. Sorry dogs not allowed.
