Beech Tree Cottage @ The Manor Mill near Exmoor

Beech Tree Cottage is a delightful cottage nestled in the beautiful hills of Somerset, on the south side of a wooded valley beside the River Tone. Nearly 200 years old, this lovely cottage has been newly updated to create a charming, well-equipped holiday home. The shared grounds are a paradise of fields, water meadows and gardens, a haven for wildlife, and star-gazing in our dark skies. Our heated indoor swimming pool and play area are shared between our cottages and offer fun for everyone. The space Originally the grain storage barn for the mill, Beech Tree Cottage nestles in the hillside, overlooked by a huge beech tree. This charming and characterful cottage is approached from a flight of pretty stone steps. It has a comfortable sitting room with an original exposed stone wall and a dining area, leading into the new open plan, well-designed compact kitchen. All on the same level a short inner hall leads to the bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a king size bed and Bedroom 2 has a zip-link bed which can be twin beds or a super-king bed. Beech Tree Cottage is south facing with river and garden views and an outside eating area. Guests are also welcome to take advantage of the rest of the beautiful grounds and river banks which are shared with our other cottages, Mill Coach House and Bankside Cottage. Our facilities include: • Electric stove • Refrigerator with small freezer compartment • Microwave • Toaster and kettle • Smart TV • Free wifi and 4G mobile access • Bathroom with a shower, washbasin and WC • Shared heated indoor swimming pool • Shared children’s play area • Shared Barbecue • A separate shared utility has a washing machine and tumble drier. • Ample free parking Linen and bath towels are included but please provide your own swimming and beach towels. We’re sorry but dogs are not allowed. We do have two, very friendly, waggy tailed labradors who live on site and are a part of our family. They have free use of all the gardens so you will meet them wandering around. Other things to note Please note, Beech Tree cottage is built into a hill. There are a lot of steps to access this cottage, the swimming pool and car park. We usually only accept bookings of 6 nights or more during the school holidays but we sometimes have gaps so if you would like a shorter stay please enquire.
