The Old White Lion, Chapel Stile

The Old White Lion is a lovely quaint cottage dating from the 18th century. It was once the village Inn – hence its name. Lovers of real ale may also care to note that they used to brew their own beer on the premises too! The lane on which it stands used to be the old road which ran through to the quarry. Once it would have been bustling with life as the workers called by for a drink on their way home. Now it is a quiet backwater, providing tranquillity and fantastic views across the valley.
