Description
Our house is in the centre of the village of Kentisbeare, near to our traditional village pub which serves food. Access to our house is via a private gravel drive surrounded by our garden so we are very private and peaceful with the river Kenn ambling along the bottom of the garden. We have ample secure car parking and a secure place for bikes. The area is great for walking and cycling yet with easy access to the M5 where you can soon reach other local beauty spots. Breakfast is included. The space The two guest bedrooms are on the ground floor along the hall as you enter the front door, together with a full bathroom all to yourselves. This area is separate from our own bedroom accommodation which is upstairs. You should, therefore feel that you have your privacy. The larger guest bedroom is light and airy with a comfortable double bed two bedside cupboards and wardrobe, a desk and chair to work at and adapter sockets if necessary for a laptop etc. The bathroom is next to it which has a large walk-in shower, a separate bath plus a toilet and sink. This would be shared by those in your party. The second bedroom has a queen size antique Tester bed which is a family heirloom. It is slightly shorter than a modern double bed being 6 feet in length and higher off the ground. This room also has wardrobe space and a desk. Both bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and we provide you with some milk. If you are a party of 2 and require the use of both bedrooms that you would need to let us know at the time of booking in order that both rooms are prepared. There would be an additional £20 per night and we would send you s price alteration request that you would then need to accept. We lay out breakfast in our dining room and provide you with fresh tea and filter coffee in the morning. We then leave you to enjoy the view but are on hand to answer any questions or give advice or suggestions about the area. Here, there are lovely views across the garden which goes and a meadow. We offer cereals and toast, yogurt, home made preserves and honey from our own bees. Guests are welcomed to enjoy our outdoor space, sit out on the sunny patio or in our quirky summerhouse next to the river or paddle in the river at the bottom of the garden. We have a wealth of garden birds as well as hedgehogs and bats at night. We would like to know what your plans are during your stay so that we can ensure the house is left secure if we are all out. We do not routinely hand our door keys to guests who are staying for one night as we would be here to ensure your safety and security. Guest access With quick and easy access to Junction 28 of the M5 or The A373 you can soon be anywhere locally that you choose to visit. The nearest town being Cullompton 4 miles away or Honiton which is 10miles from us, via The A373, Exeter, our nearest city is also easily accessible via the M5. Taunton a lovely town in Somerset is also easily accessible. The nearest train stations are Tiverton Parkway on the Paddington line or Honiton which is the Waterloo line. We can offer off road parking. Alternatively there is parking outside of the property on the village road. During your stay We are happy to answer any questions you might have about the area. This is also our home and whilst we enjoy meeting people we appreciate our privacy and understand the need for our guests to have theirs too. As our bedroom and bathroom is upstairs guests should feel they have their privacy in the downstairs bedrooms and bathroom. There are some shared spaces, such as the entrance hall and our dining room, as shown in the photographs. However this does not include the lounge or kitchen areas although we are happy for guests to make use of the fridge or freezer if required. Guests are also welcome to enjoy the garden and patio area. Other things to note As mentioned in our introduction, we have a small, very friendly terrier. If you are not used to dogs we can always keep him in the kitchen away from guests.
