Welcome to Ostana, one of the most beautiful villages in Italy, located in the Po Valley in front of Monviso (3841 meters), the highest mountain in the Cottian Alps. The cabin is located at 1400 meters in the characteristic hamlet of Sant'Antonio di Ostana, away from mass tourist circuits. The cabin has a beautiful southwest exposure, and from its large terrace you can enjoy spectacular views of Monviso and the surrounding mountains. In the winter months, if you wish, you will be enveloped by the warmth of the wood-burning fireplace. The space Arranged on two floors, the cabin on the ground floor has an equipped kitchen, a small bathroom and on the first floor there is a spacious terrace and a bedroom with a stone fireplace, a double bed, a loft with two single beds. At the highest point, the mezzanine measures 1 m and 60 cm, a space dedicated only to sleeping. Wi-Fi is available throughout the house. The last building of the cabin dates back to 1905. The restoration of the house, begun in 2017 and completed in 2020, was carried out through the techniques of green building and traditional architecture. The materials used for renovation are natural materials such as local stone and larch wood. It is usually possible to use the wood-burning fireplace from October to April. Guests will be provided with wood and everything they need to use it. Guest access The cabin can be reached by car with the possibility of free parking a few meters from the house. It is possible to stop for a moment with the car in front of the house to unload your luggage. The road, in the last kilometer and a half, climbs in hairpin bends, narrowing a little. However, it does not present any particular difficulties. Those who do not have the opportunity to reach us by their own means have two options: take advantage of a shuttle service upon request, or, for those arriving from an airport, rent a car. Nearest airports are: Turin Caselle (100km away), Milan Malpensa (220km) and Milano Bergamo (270km). Other things to note The place is perfect for a couple. Families (including children over 10 years old) or a group of friends of up to 4 people can also stay, aware that you sleep in the same room and therefore need a little adaptation for sharing spaces. The house is located in the small village of Sant'Antonio di Ostana, where the only service present is a coffee bar. The bakery is located in the village of Villa, about 10 minutes walk from the house, partly passing through the path in the woods. It can also be reached by car. Pets, whatever they are, can't stay. The Municipality of Ostana applies the tourist tax of €1 per person per night. Children up to 12 years old pay €0.50. The accommodation tax must be paid in cash at the time of check-in.
