Foxgloves & Fairytales Hut with Hot Tub

Foxgloves and Fairytales provides an escape from the demands and stresses of everyday life. This simple and private outdoor space is completely on its own in a 5 acre field with no other guests around. It’s nestled quietly on a gentle hillside, beside trees and pasture land. There’s mountain views to nourish and inspire you, bluebells in the woods in spring and wildflowers in the meadow in summer. Turn down the noise in your life and tune in to nature’s rhythms instead. Bliss! The space Completely private with exclusive use of the kitchen cabin, shower and toilet facilities, perfect for couples seeking a romantic getaway. The shepherds hut is light and airy. Its an uncluttered and quiet space, just what you need to relax and sleep well. It has a comfortable full size double bed, complete with plump pillows, duvet and soft cotton bed linen. There are two chairs, storage cupboard and a wood burning stove. A complimentary starter pack of firelighters, kindling and logs is provided to keep you warm and cosy inside the hut. The stable style door opens out onto a porch/platform and there are steps down to the patio with table and chairs for alfresco dining. Perfect for watching amazing sunsets and gazing at starry skies. The outdoor cooking area is undercover in an open fronted log cabin. Two ring gas hob and small BBQ for cooking hot food, stainless steel worktops for food preparation, kitchen sink with hot running water. Fridge and basic kitchen equipment is provided; pots and pans, crockery, cutlery and some ingredients such as salt, pepper and oil. In addition to the practical benefits of having a private separate cabin, (i.e. you don’t have to cook in your bedroom and you’ve got somewhere else to put your walking boots) the cabin offers an additional undercover space to enjoy your surroundings. You’ll have welcome shade in a heatwave and shelter on a rainy day. We're in a "Dark Sky" area which means a multitude of sparkling stars on a cloudless night and sight of the Milky Way. You can relax around the campfire in the evenings with a bottle of wine or enjoy a warm soak in the wood-fired hot tub. Bags of wood, kindling and BBQ charcoal are available for purchase on site. There’s a hot shower and wash hand basin inside the cabin. Soft fluffy towels, soap and planet friendly shower gel and shampoo are provided. The spacious composting toilet is located next to the cabin. It’s sparkling, clean and fresh. Toilet rolls are provided. There’s a hand washing sink with soap and a sanitiser dispenser inside. If you need to stay in touch with friends or family back home, a good 4G mobile phone signal is available. Guest access Foxgloves & Fairytales is enclosed in a paddock within a five acre field. Free parking for one car beside the paddock. If you have an electric vehicle you can charge it at the farmhouse for the cost of electricity used. We have 12 acres of land and woods. We keep a small flock of pedigree sheep. Feel free to wander. Other things to note The off grid hot tub is heated by a wood fired stove. This can take two hours to get hot, depending on the outside weather conditions and the intensity of the fire burning within. The tub is emptied, cleaned and replenished with fresh pure water for each new guest arriving and no chemicals are used. Bring your own wood to heat the hot tub or purchase from our wood shed on-site.
