Description
This lovely self contained wooden chalet (The Roadhouse) is set in a quiet rural location near Bovey Tracey with stunning views over the fields to Dartmoor. Surrounded by 100 acres of nature reserve, home to many rare species, a walkers/nature lovers paradise with many birds, butterflies and dragonflies. There are some excellent pubs nearby, Exeter is only 20 minutes, 10 miles to the coast and close to Dartmoor, Ashburton and Newton Abbot. The heating is a woodburner. Very cosy. The space The Roadhouse is quiet and private with its own parking, a secluded patio and lovely views across the fields to Dartmoor. This is where most people spend time relaxing, eating and unwinding. It is set in a 3 acre field bordered by a disused railway line leading to the River Bovey and the Heath (Nature Reserve) which is open access and a delight for walkers. A stroll around the Heath to the pub and back is highly recommended. Our tap water is from Hennock Reservoir and is delicious. no need for bottled water in this area. Guest access The Roadhouse has its own private entrance, parking space and garden. Unfortunately the Roadhouse it is not wheelchair accessible. Other things to note Please be aware that the heating in the Roadhouse is a woodburner, which does require regular tending and some work bringing in the logs. Access from the main road is via a dirt track which is a little bumpy and sometimes muddy but accessible to all vehicles.
