Barley cottage, a converted barn, rural location

Located in Chiddingly, Sussex countryside Barley Cottage one of 3 cottages in a converted barn, in a rural and picturesque area , and provides stunning walks amidst a network of footpaths. It boasts two double en suite bedrooms, large living area with private parking. Granary cottages have been run very successfully by us since 2016. This is a quiet rural retreat, but very close to Lewes , Brighton , and the South downs, by car. You will need your own transport from this cottage. No pets The space Converted from a barn to three holiday cottages, Barley cottage is located in the heart of Sussex. Wheat cottage and Oat cottage are the other two, all with private parking off road, and separate entrance to the farm. The South Downs National Park. Close by is the village of Chiddingly, in the heart of the village lies a well known country pub called The Six Bells with a fantastic atmosphere and occasional live bands. Barley Cottage is a well equipped, self catering holiday home awarded a 4 gold star rosette. Down stairs is open plan with underfloor heating, a fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and dish washer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven. Upstairs comfortably sleeps 4 adults, with two bedrooms - one kingsize and one twin both with en suite bathrooms. The lounge area has a tv and dvd player combined and a feature electric wood burner. There is a sun room at the front of the cottage with additional seating overlooking the garden and dining area. To the front and rear of the property there are private outdoor seating areas .There is a garden area to the front , with chairs and tables . We live behind the cottages, so are available if you have any problems. sadly we do not have facilities for charging electric cars, but we have many points close by one set of towels per person is allocated weekly only 1 infant permitted due to space for cot per booking Guest access There is private parking for two cars, outdoor security lighting and the cottage is situated on a very quiet, country lane. The owners live in the adjacent farm house and are always available. Other things to note A twenty minute walk along the foot path brings you to the Six Bells pub, famous for its live music and food. Barley Cottage is situated next to the Vanguard Way and Weald Way ,and these offer stunning walks to the South Downs and to the Ashdown Forest. The coast is approximately 15 miles away, as is Brighton. The county town of Lewes is less than 10 miles away and well worth a visit to its quaint old cobbled streets filled with antique shops and wide selection of bistros and café s. There are also many National Trust properties to visit, including Batemans near Heathfield where Rudyard Kipling lived. The house is in an excellent position for visiting Glyndebourne .Only 5 miles from the property and offering a Summer of operatic events. There is a village store with a café about 1 1/2 miles down the lane in Muddles Green. Fully stocked with essentials and meat from the local butcher. Ideal cycling area with a safe lock up area provided for bikes. Close by are some award winning vin yards including Chapel Down with its award winning restaurant, and tour guides. You will need your own car when visiting us .
