North Barn on the banks of the River Dart

North Barn is an 18th century stone building, bursting with character, set on the banks of the River Dart. Originally a corn collection point, North Barn has been renovated to a beautiful, romantic ‘one-room-living’ self-catering space. The atmosphere is fresh and light, with skylights that make even the dullest of days seem bright. The patio doors open up on to a large deck area overlooking the river from an elevated height thus giving you great views across the River Dart. Need to know... -The king size bed has a sunken mattress, which can be difficult for anyone with mobility issues to get in and out of. - Although there are black out blinds, it is not possible to completely black out the barn - some guests like to bring sleep masks - The hot water is heated by an off-peak immersion heater, with a day-time over-ride when required. [but please turn it off at bed-time.] - Logs for the wood burner are included but please replace them from the pile underneath the barn when you leave. A short ferry ride takes you across to Greenway, the once holiday home of Agatha Christie. The harbour town of Dartmouth is just a short drive or ferry ride away and offers an array of shops, a cinema, plenty of restaurants, pubs and even a castle. Further afield, there are plenty of fantastic sandy beaches such as Blackpool and Slapton Sands. The beautiful towns of Salcombe & Totnes are a 30-40 minute drive away and offer a wonderful day out. The nearest last night supermarkets are in Totnes or Dartmouth.
