Historic hidden gem, perfect for exploring Exmoor

Ground floor self-contained conversion ajacent to a large Edwardian Manor House built by the current owner's grand-father in 1914 and surrounded by stunning countryside. Peaceful, rural and quiet setting on a private estate but you can walk to a nearby riverside pub and there are a range of great shops and pubs in nearby Dulverton Only 3 miles from Exmoor National Park and within easy reach of Tarr Steps, Dunkery Beacon, Porlock, Exeter and North Devon Beaches. Children and dogs welcome The space This is a newly refurbished, redecorated and re-equipped space with an Arts and Crafts period feel to it combined with modern comforts. There is a light and spacious sitting room/kitchen combined with a dining table and chairs, a (single) sofa bed, tv with firestick and wifi hub. This is an ideal work space and we have fast and super reliable wi-fi. The kitchen is well equipped for full self catering with an electric cooker, microwave, kettle, fridge and sink. There is a good sized bedroom with an Emperor sized double bed which can be made up as two single beds if preferred (please tell us when you book). The bathroom has a walk in shower, wc and sink. We provide lots of books, maps and information about local attractions and great walks but also garden space, a picnic table and deckchairs if you want to take it easy! Wild swimming in the River Exe is also on offer. We welcome children (and can provide cot and/or child's bed, high chair, toys and access to a child's swing and trampoline) and well behaved dogs. Private safe parking for 1 or 2 vehicles and access to Ev Charger (50p per Kw) Guest access Guests can sit or stroll in the garden ajoining the Airbnb and a picnic table, deck chairs and a rug are available for their use. They are also welcome to admire our beautiful walled vegetable garden, walk around our fields and woods and to use the (extremely rough!) tennis court. Wild swimming is available on the River Exe accessible from our land (strictly at the swimmers own risk). River and lake fashing is available nearby. The house is also situated in one of the best dark sky spots in the UK, ideal for star-gazing. Other things to note Our cleaner has completed a Covid 19 Cleaning course and is certificated as such.
