Aber Farm Shepherd's hut (Pen y Fan)

Set at the heart of the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park, our shepherd's hut is the perfect getaway for two. The hut is practical and cosy, with a wood-burning stove, small gas cooker, and everything you need to get off the grid. Whether you want to read, write and retreat, or get out on foot, bike or canoe amongst the sheep, hills, rivers, canals and forests, our hut makes the ideal escape. The space We are a pleasant 15 minute walk from Talybont on Usk where you'll find a village shop, cafe, post office and great pubs. We provide pillows and bed sheets, but you'll need to bring a duvet/sleeping bag and towels (though we can provide these for an extra £5). You'll find beautiful oak details such as window frames, worktop, shelf and cupboard doors. Although there is no running water in the hut, the water dispenser is filled from our spring. A solar panel for lighting and USB charging, small belfast sink, gas hobs and of course the wood-burning stove make this a real back-to-basics gem. Please be aware that we provide a little firewood to get you started but you will need to bring extra with you or purchase from local shops or garages. Guest access You'll have access to the wash-hut (containing a toilet, shower and kitchen sink), it's shared with any guests in our other huts and is located on the farmyard. Other things to note You'll find a bottle of our delicious Aber Valley Apple Juice waiting for you on arrival. Parking is available on the farmyard. You are welcome to have a fire outside too, each of our huts has it's own.
