Oak Cottage, Llanthony

The views of the Black Mountains are exceptionally beautiful from this lovely cottage in a very peaceful farm location overlooking the Llanthony Valley, 10 miles from Abergavenny. There is a log fire and underfloor heating in cold weather. Ideal for a relaxing escape. Wonderful walks from the doorstep in the Brecon Beacons National Park. Uncrowded hills and 2 pubs nearby. The historic Llanthony Priory has an atmospheric bar in the cellar with excellent evening food. The space A perfect location for a walking holiday. This lovely cottage is on a quiet farm with spectacular views overlooking Llanthony Valley in Brecon Beacons National Park. Oak Cottage is one of two cottages within a converted stone barn with original beams and woodwork. It is open plan on the ground floor (The space above is storage space only). There is underfloor heating in winter and a natural oak floor. A log fire welcomes you after a long walk in the surrounding mountains. You can lie in bed and see the flames in the wood burning stove. There is a double bed and a single sofa bed in the same open plan space. (Next door, Flagstone Cottage is ideal for children.) There is an spacious shower and the kitchen is well equipped for cooking your own meals. Outside there is a table and seating in summer, for relaxing and enjoying the view. WIFI now works well in the cottage. The only phone signal that works is with EE. Bikes can be kept in the barn if required. If you need to use the shared washing machine please ask. The best days to arrive are Monday or Thursday for four nights or Friday for three nights. Please ask me about other options for planning your trip. Guest access This cottage is ground floor on one level. One step up from outside parking place. Wheelchair access and ramp available. Other things to note Sorry no pets in this cottage. Changeover days are Monday and Thursday or Friday. Please ask about other arrival days. There is WIFI but no Mobile phone signal. Firewood is £5 per basket used. Check local pubs for opening times as they close on some days, Llanthony Priory Hotel is open on weekends until 1st January then it is closed until March. The Half Moon Inn will be open on weekends in the winter .
