Rosendal – Cosy Cottage for Countryside & Coast

Rosendal Cottage is nestled on the edge of the stunning historic town of Winchelsea, overlooking beautiful countryside and adjacent to the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The cottage itself is cosy, yet has ample space for relaxing, with an open-plan kitchen, dining area and generous garden. It has WiFi and Freesat TV. It's a perfect base for exploring, with gorgeous walking and cycling paths, including the 1066 trail and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and nearby Winchelsea beach. The space Rosendal sits in a quiet parade of cottages, set back from the A259, with a generous front garden. The cottage is accessed via stairs from the pavement into the garden. Downstairs, you'll find the cosy lounge with large sofa, armchair, wood burner and Freesat TV. This leads into an open plan kitchen and dining area, which opens out onto the back garden. This is an enclosed space with a patio, table and chairs, lawn, BBQ and plum tree. There is a side gate for easy access between the front and back gardens. The bathroom is located downstairs, with a toilet, sink, roll top bath with shower. Upstairs, there are three bedrooms, the largest located at the front of the house, with a double bed and digital radio. The second bedroom overlooks the garden and has wonderful views out across the countryside towards Rye. This bedroom has a queen size bed. The third bedroom, also to the rear with lovely views, has bunk beds and is ideal for children. Guest access From the cottage, Winchelsea is a 5 minute walk up Strand Hill. Here, you'll find a lovely deli, church, small museum and pub. The parking in town is ample and free, and is the best place to park your car. There are many gorgeous walks you can do straight from the front door, including Icklesham, Rye Nature Reserve, Pett Level, Camber Castle, Winchelsea Beach and Rye Town. There are bus stops just along from the cottage, with services into Rye and Hastings. There's also a train station approx 10 minutes walk away, which runs into Ashford and Hastings. Other things to note ACCESSIBILITY – This cottage may not be ideal for people with mobility issues. There are stairs from the pavement to the garden, the path in the garden is stony and the bath is roll-top with no handrails to get in or out. The walk from the cottage to the town is reasonably short, but up a hill which is unlit at night. PARKING – It is possible to unload outside the cottage, but free parking is a 5 minute walk away. NOISE – Rosendal Cottage is situated in a quiet residential parade which makes it unsuitable for parties or loud music. Please do not book if you need a place for a noisy gathering.
