The space Waterfalls Farm is nestled on the foothills of Stellenbosch Mountain, approximately 9km from the village center. Within easy walking distance to the Jonkershoek and Assegaaibosch Nature Reserves, both of which are World Heritage Sites. Offering the outdoor enthusiast the most spectacular playground! CHECK-IN TIMES : 2pm to 8pm CHECK-OUT TIME: by 11am Guest access Guests are free to enjoy the lawned gardens only a few steps up behind Kim's Cottage - a quiet garden with beautiful mountain views. We also have a farm trail that will take you up to the border of the property for some spectacular views across the valley - a definite must do at sunset. Other things to note 'Sharing is Caring" - the cottage has one shared bathroom with a toilet in the downstairs bedroom, and a second toilet en suite to the upstairs room (can be seen in the photographs). This makes the cottage better suited to a family or close group of friends that don't mind sharing. 'Temporary Detour Route' The heavy rainfall and river flooding in the Stellenbosch area during June and again in September 2023 have caused the temporary closure of our normal access bridge. We are extremely grateful for the cooperation of one of our neighbours, the CapeNature Assegaaibosch Conservation Area, as they have provided us with a detour that will lead you to our farm. This alternate route adds approximately 3 kilometres to your journey, and takes you along a gravel road, passing through the Assegaaibosch Conservation Area and a small community. We highly recommend having your own vehicle during your stay with us, as this will provide easy access to our farm and allow you to explore the surrounding area conveniently. A bonus of driving through the Conservation Area is that you might have the opportunity to spot one of the local baboon troops with their adorable young ones foraging nearby. These baboons are not aggressive (unlike in some other areas) and provide a fascinating and entertaining sight for nature lovers, but please do not feed them!
