Spectacular lake views in charming Bettys Bay home

This magnificent double story house enjoys breathtaking views of the two lakes that it sits between. It features two lounges - one upstairs with insane lake views, the other downstairs with beautiful views of the mountain, fynbos, and silversands dune. An incredibly well kitted out kitchen flows in open plan to a dining area and the downstairs lounge. Enjoy swimming, kayaking, and fishing in the lakes, or one of the many wonderful beaches (closest beach access is 1km). The space Two lounges plus three bedrooms and a study ensure that there is space for everyone at our beautiful and well considered holiday home. A large downstairs guest room with mountain views (king and single bed) has its own access to a small outside deck (which connects to an outdoor hot-water shower). The downstairs room also sits across from a kids room (with a single bed and bunk bed), which together share the downstairs bathroom. The kitchen and dining area are open plan, and blend into the downstairs lounge, all of which share a wood burning stove, and enjoy lovely views of the mountain and fynbos (we are surrounded by the green belt thanks to the lakes, so the vegetation is wonderful). Heading upstairs, you'll find a study with more great views, and the upstairs lounge -- with incredible views of both lakes, a deck, a super inviting reading nook (where 2 people can also sleep), and a small loft space (up a ladder, with a double bed). Finally, the master bedroom, which is privately situated at the opposite end of the house from the other bedrooms, and enjoys stunning views on 3 sides of both lakes and the mountain (imagine drinking your coffee in bed and watching the birds fly back and forth between the lakes); it also has an adjacent bathroom (positioned to feel 'en suite', but also usable by other upstairs guests without having to enter the bedroom). All dedicated bedrooms have blackout blinds/curtains. Outside is a (relatively) wind-sheltered courtyard, with a large, built-in stone braai, and various seating and shade options. Also a very nice and large hot water outdoor shower (big enough to rinse and hang wetsuits and whatnot after the beach). A little path leads directly onto Grootvlei (the larger, shallower lake), which is nice for kayaking. Enjoy the sounds of the frogs, the egrets and herons flying back and forth between the lakes, the sunset behind silversands dune, fishing, swimming, and kayaking -- and all that is within 200 metres of the house. Located on a quiet and peaceful dirt road just a kilometre to the nearest beach access, this house has everything you will need for a super relaxing holiday with friends and family. Guest access You'll have full access to the property Other things to note The wifi is a 4G modem. The rate includes 1GB/night free, after which it is charged based on use, at R10 per 1GB (which is what we pay). Wood (firewood and braaiwood) is usually available at a small charge. Our cat and dog sometimes join us when we stay at the house. The house is very open, though, and the animals are not allowed on the furniture (friends with allergies have never noted problems). Please note that much of the beauty of our house is its placement in the middle of a nature greenbelt and wetland, and that comes with creatures and wildlife. This means you may encounter insects (spiders, millipedes/ shongololos, ants) inside the house, depending on season. We do our best to keep them out, but if you do see creatures, please understand that it is not because our house is not clean, but rather because we want to protect the wetland and wildlife, and thus do not want to use poison to keep them out, as they are all harmless. This is a lake/beach house in a rural area -- the floors downstairs are unfinished concrete, and the vibe is open-air, indoor-outdoor living. If you need spotless modern finishes, this house is definitely not for you. Also, please understand: NO PARTIES. This is our family's home, and not just a rental. Absolutely NO SMOKING inside. If you smoke outside BE VERY CAREFUL (extinguishing properly) and dispose of all butts in the rubbish bin. It seems obvious to say this, but we've been very sad to find stompies littering the bush after guests have stayed. Thank you! :)
