The Casetta of Memories

Detached house next to other houses, on the island of Salina, just minutes from Leni. You pass through a small entrance to access a characteristic kitchen that still retains an ancient hearth. In the living room there is a table, a sideboard, a bookcase and a comfortable armchair. From here you can access the double bedroom furnished in style; in addition to the double bed there is a single bed. The mezzanine above contains a sofa bed to offer two extra single beds. The space The furniture, accessories, exhibits, paintings and photos on the walls represent glimpses of the life of the old family that lived there and left the island after the war to emigrate to America to seek their fortune. At the entrance there is a small independent terrace large enough to eat outside. It's a family home that we care about a lot. We kindly ask that it be respected and left in the condition in which it was found. Guest access The house is accessible from two entrances. One with a staircase and the other without steps through the garden. Check-in is after 4 p.m. and check-out is by 10 a.m. Early check-in or late check-out only if available for a fee of €35. Other things to note This is a typical Aeolian-style house, bordering other homes. A few minutes from Leni on foot and 3 km from the sea (Rinella) by car, 25 min on foot via the mule tracks. The return is uphill! The neighbors have two dogs, so if you have a four-legged friend, they're likely to bark. It is advisable to rent a vehicle to be more independent, but the island is still served by public transport with which you can easily reach the villages that overlook the other sides. Salina is served by maritime vehicles with which you can reach the other 6 islands and the mainland. Transport service to or from the port of Rinella on arrival/departure €20 each way.
