Welcome to the Garvey House a family/ children/pet friendly vintage home located in the historic district of North Tacoma. Updated but retaining the charm of years gone by… The house is comfortable and family friendly. Guest have access to the entire home, relax on the front porch, cook in the large kitchen. 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms. Everything you need to feel like home is included. FYI This is a pet-friendly home, those with allergies or pet sensitivities should book elsewhere. The space My home is located just a few blocks from St. Patrick's church, Hanks tavern, 6th Ave, Old Town, and Wright Park. The house includes a large spacious Kitchen, Dining, Living, Study, and 1 Bedroom/Bath on the main level. A beautiful staircase winds up to the second floor where the Master Suite w/Bath, 2 Bedrooms, Laundry, and Hall Bath with Double shower is located. The front porch features plush chairs, a porch swing, side tables, and rugs where you can enjoy coffee or listen to the birds. The covered back patio off the kitchen invites you to dine outside, relax in the afternoon sun, or enjoy the outdoor heater in the evening with the twinkle lights. There is a white picket fence dog run in the backyard as well. Those with allergies, pet-sensitivities, or chemical allergies should consider booking elsewhere. The home is cleaned throughly before and after all bookings. A combination of Clorox, Vinegar, Comet, Green Clean, Clorox Spray, Murphy’s Oil Soap, Dawn, Spic&Span, Wood Polish, & Pet Deodorizers are all used to clean the home. Laundry is washed with Tide, Borax, and Gain fabric softener. Blankets are washed between guests, including Duvet covers. Bed pillows are also washed bi-weekly. Each bed has a waterproof mattress cover, bed mattress pad, and decor pillows. The bathrooms are cleaned throughly with a combination of the cleaners. The floors are washed with towels by hand in a combo of Clorox, Vinegar, and Dawn. Those that appreciate older homes will understand that there are a few flaws... The stair railing has two broken spindles. The bathroom downstairs needs a replacement towel rack. The piano keys are not all working. There are some cracks in the ceiling. There are some gaps in the wood flooring around the baseboards. The shower handle in the soaking tub leaks. Please do not book if you are expecting a new home - all white or perfect. With age comes character! That said, if you appreciate the extra touches- loads of teas and coffee, an array of games and puzzles, candles and decor, books with interesting themes, children’s toys or supplies as needed, Keurig and a coffee pot, tons of room, extra towels and linens, free laundry facilities including soap, ironing board and steamer, outside covered deck and a front porch. Everyday dishes, fancy dishes, barware, holiday dishes, and tons of glasses, mugs, and wine glasses, and serving ware then The Garvey House will be a great fit for you! Other things to note Dogs are welcome ! If you will need to be away, please take your pet with you, or crate in the kitchen. Left outside in the dog run is fine too. Please no pets on the bed!
