Description
Fairhaven is a rustic cottage situated on the outskirts of the village of Brockweir in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It overlooks the River Wye across open fields at the front and nestles into woodland on the valley slopes behind. It sleeps six adults, plus a child and baby. Multiple bathrooms, lounging spaces and a fully equipped kitchen make the cottage the ideal venue for get togethers for family and friends. The space Fairhaven has been lovingly restored with traditional materials including lime mortar and locally sourced wood. Adapted to be as environmentally friendly as possible without compromising the charm of the original building, the cottage is also fitted with discreetly placed rooftop panels to provide solar water heating all year round. This comfortable and atmospheric home from home has a very spacious kitchen/ breakfast room, a cosy sitting room with deep leather sofas and wood burner, a stone walled dining room, dishwasher, American-style fridge-freezer with ice-dispenser. The TV includes Freeview, DVD and chrome-cast (for device-to-television screen sharing). There is also a downstairs loo and wet room. Upstairs there is a master bedroom suite with en-suite bathroom & a small dressing room. There is also an adjoining bedroom with a single day bed (suitable for a child or small adult) as well as a travel cot. There are two further twin bedrooms, a shower room and another bathroom, a laundry cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer. All the beds are made up with Egyptian cotton linen and towels. Essentials such as loo roll, soap, shower gel, dishwasher tablets, tea, olive oil etc as well as a basket of logs in season are provided. The second first floor sitting area leads out onto a stone terrace and garden abundant with free roaming plants to encourage wildlife including deer who make a regular appearance. There is also a front terrace and access to a small meadow with views of the river as well as a modest orchard where guests are invited to pick fruit in-season. Each outdoor area is generously equipped with furniture for al fresco dining. Other things to note **Points to consider For access to the master bedroom guests will need to walk through the adjoining room with the day bed - please consider this if you are planning on using the adjoining bedroom for a 7th guest. Although children are most welcome the garden is unfenced and steep so little ones must be supervised. Access-the cottage is situated down a very narrow lane, with parking for up to 3 cars maximum.
