Check in no later than 8pm. Ash House is a rustic & cozy "Glamping Hostel" located in a rural area. (No smoking anywhere on the property). This (private) sleeping room has a double bed partitioned from 2 sets of bunk beds and attached to large SHARED bathroom (2 showers, 4 toilets). NOT SUITABLE for children under 4 years. Access to a fully equipped (shared) kitchen via covered veranda. Swimming pool (November to March) & limited WiFi access.i The space The Ash House located at The Staging Post is rustic and full of character, a bit like your hosts Linda and Mike. We aim to make you as comfortable as possible and recognise we're not the Hilton Hotel so bring a sense of humour and call us with any questions. Vax pass required and no smokers please. Not suitable for children under 4. Guest access You'll be able to access short walking tracks in the Staging Post area as well as our swimming pool and stage area if you're looking for some peace and quiet. We are a rural retreat located just 45 minutes from Kaikoura and 55 minutes from Hanmer Springs, and the Waipara wine district is about 45 minutes south. During your stay We'll pop in every day (trying not to disturb you, so when you go out on a day trip, or around 10 - 11am daily) to check the bathroom and kitchen area supplies and ensure all is safe and well (hot plates off, tv off if you're out etc). Having lived and worked in the area for over 30 years we're able to let you know about other local attractions that make ideal half day and day trips, or the best place to hide and read a book, or even lend you a spare yoga mat. Other things to note Not suitable for children under 4 years. All running water on the property is filtered and UV treated. It is a rural area, and we try to implement organic practices, so be prepared for the odd spider web. While we implement some "pest control", there's always a possum living in a nearby tree and other creatures that may not thrive in cities and apartments can make their presence felt. (You'll see mouse bait stations around to keep the hostel as clear as possible from these little, unwelcome freeloaders) 2 person price is based on a DOUBLE/QUEEN bed. If you need two SEPARATE beds the is an extra $10 charge.
