1849 Victoria Flour Mill Counting House

Built on this site in 1845, the Victoria Mill, then owned by Walter Duffield, burned to the ground in 1867. Thankfully, the Counting House, Counting House Office and Weigh Bridge Office were saved. The Counting House accommodates one or two couples, in an incredibly unique piece of Gawler's history. A kitchen, including breakfast, dining room, reading room, lounge and two bedrooms are under the main roof, with the bathroom in a lean-to under the verandah. Bathrobes supplied! Furnished. The space This is a seriously old building, with some lovely, interesting quirks. Guests can enjoy it's unique place in Gawler's history whilst enjoying good quality linen, comfortable beds, reverse cycle heating and cooling, a lovely kitchen, electric lighting and hot water from pipes! Future upgrades and additions are planned, but for now, share an unique experience, at a fair price. Guest access Guests have access to the whole cottage and may park onsite. Wifi and Netflix provided. Other things to note I am planning an indoor bathroom in the future, but please be advised the current bathroom necessitates stepping outside under the verandah to access. Please take care stepping into the bath.
