Welcome to Sun Wind Beach Kalpitiya- an authentic local family run business! Our comfortable, traditionally designed cabanas are set just ten metres from the shore of gorgeous Kalpitiya Lagoon. Daily breakfast, boat transfer to sandbar kitesurfing spot,and use of beach huts included free of charge. We are the first local kite surfers in Kalpitiya and offer kiting lessons, dolphin watching, island hopping and kiting tours to Vella and Mannar Islands. Experience Kalpitiya through local eyes! The space This comfortable cabana is of traditional design and made out of locally sourced natural materials. Set just 10 metres from Kalpitiya lagoon, the cabana comes with a double bed, mosquito net, fan, ensuite bathroom with shell shower, chill out verandah and hammock. Check out the unique artwork on the walls by a local artist. Our premises follows a natural aesthetic and is of sustainable design. All structures are made out of natural materials by members of our local family. Our garden of tranquility is full of tropical trees, beautiful plants and art installations made out of found objects and natural materials. We have an area for nightly Bon fires and a small bar and seperate on site resteraunt. Our cuisine is legendary! We serve the freshest seafood, vegetable dishes and tropical juices. We have 2 chill outs- one at the resteraunt and the other is an elevated chill out amongst the palm trees with glimpses of the lagoon - perfect for morning yoga sessions. Guest access Guests have access to the on site restaurant serving delicious seafood, vegetable dishes and fresh juices. We have 2 chillout areas- one at the resteraunt and a seperate elevated chillout amongst the palm trees with glimpses of the lagoon which is perfect for yoga. We have a small boat permanently anchored to the lagoon shore where you can have a drink and watch the sunset. Guests also have exclusive access to beach huts on Kalpitiya Lagoon and Vella Island- key kite surfing spots. Other things to note We are local boatsmen/ fishermen with an intimate knowledge of the local area and it's unique eco systems. We can organise a number of seasonal tours including dolphin watching, island hopping, kiting tours and snorkelling in Sri Lanka's largest reef. We also offer competitively priced kite surfing beginner lessons if you are interested. We can organise tours of regional sites such as Anuradhapura and Wilpattu National Park. Breakfast is free of charge. If you would like Lunch or dinner, please advise in the morning so we can source the freshest seafood for you. Our dinners are renown- fresh prawns, crabs, calamari, curries, salads and rice dishes :)
