Description
A simple & minimal self-contained studio under the main residential house that doubles as a healing room when not on Airbnb. Share in the beauty of Feathertail Nature Refuge, a unique property of high ecological value; 22 acres of protected land only 25kms west of Brisbane, backing onto the southern end of D'Aguilar Range NP. This place is for easy-going nature lovers who appreciate the simple things, can live without screen time, & yearn to remember their human 'beingness' amongst the trees. The space An open plan space with minimal furnishings; bean bag couch, pull down Wall Bed one end, Kitchenette with fridge & gas cooker down the other. Glass sliding doors encourage an inside/outside feeling, allowing full integration with the forest environment beyond the studio - you will feel like you are sleeping amongst the trees and in tune with the abundant bird life on the property. Yoga props will remain in the studio, so there's plenty of space to lay down a yoga mat and stretch out after a walk. Step out onto the outside deck (uncovered) to drink in the peaceful forest vibes and access the semi-outdoor shower & composting toilet for your personal use. You will love showering with the forest and using the loo with a view. Camping chairs to stargaze from the deck are available to use, and the kitchen stools from inside can be taken to the outside 'bar' for a morning cuppa or sunset drink. Feathertail is a serene 'traffic free' paradise with a seasonal creek & an abundance of native wildlife. If you are an adventurous walker, you'll enjoy rambling along the creek lines, through the forest and even up to local Mermaid Mountain for a view of South East Queensland! Guest access *** this property is very difficult to access by public transport. Please communicate with me about your transport arrangements if you intend to travel here without your own vehicle*** Parking is under the main residential house at the end of a driveway with no turnaround. Please note that you will need to reverse out of the driveway when leaving. You will be staying in a very quiet neighbourhood, and are unlikely to see or hear other neighbours, just my tenant Yoko and sometimes her teenage daughter who lives upstairs if they're around. Local shops are back the way you came (25 minutes), so come equipped with everything you need to avoid leaving!...that's what I've always loved doing! Other things to note It’s best to plan to disconnect from technology here at Feathertail Nature Refuge as there is no wifi, and phone/data coverage with providers other than Telstra can be hit and miss. Have you heard the saying “there’s no wifi, but you'll get a better CONNECTION! (to nature, to your loved one, to yourself!). If you like the idea of being unplugged, but also need some connectivity, a Telstra 4G dongle will be available for essential communications to the outside world. I don't like guests to feel they have no way of contacting someone in an emergency if they need to! Also, it can get colder here than elsewhere in Brisbane so bring extra layers and snuggly socks or uggies for indoors.
