Description
A traditional Mongolian yurt set in stunning Somerset countryside neighbouring the famous Babington House hotel. The yurt is next to the host's home so there is usually someone close by to help with any needs that arise. It has been listed as being for four but another sofa bed is available on request to allow accommodation for six close friends or family as the yurt is an open space. The yurt has everything you could need for your stay including a logburner, kitchen and shower room. The space The yurt is a Mongolian canvas and wooden dwelling. It is heated by a woodburner. It is cosy and comfortable but please be aware that this is not bricks and mortar and therefore you will be more in touch with the weather conditions which is part of the experience. This is glamorous camping and not an off-the-peg, cloned hotel room. You will need to go outside to get to the kitchen and bathroom from the yurt, so this will appeal to people who enjoy the great outdoors and something a little different. We love the space and so has everyone who has stayed with us here at Babington Stables. Guest access You will have your own garden with a camp kitchen, shower room with compost toilet, kennel, decked area, fire pit, compost toilet and parking space with path to yurt. Other things to note The yurt is close to the owner's house so if splendid isolation is your bag this may not be for you. Yurts are canvas homes which are extremely strong and durable but sometimes there can be a small leak round the edges when it rains hard or ropes may need retying. The owner is on hand to deal with such things - just say if there are any problems. We have a friendly dog, cats, sheep, chickens, ducks and cows. You have your own garden and a well- behaved dog is welcome, but not if it is a cat chaser or not good with people etc. Dogs are not welcome in the yurt but there is a kennel. Dogs will need to be kept on a lead at all times outside the yurt garden and you will expected to clean up after your dog. The cats sometimes jump onto the roof of the yurt and it can make you jump if your not expecting it ! Also the cats know no bounds so if the yurt is left open they have been known to make themselves comfortable so if you're allergic to cats this may not be the place for you.
