Amsterdam Central Station is directly accessible by bus (14 minutes). The space From 1933 to 2017 the Beltbrug bridge house accommodated the city’s bridge keepers. In 2017 the bridge house started a new chapter as one of SWEETS hotel's 28 hotel rooms. As with every SWEET, Beltbrug’s interior is inspired by its architectural history. Architect 1933: Pieter Lodewijk Kramer Architect 2017: Space&Matter Architectural Style: Amsterdam School Bridge Type: Bascule Bridge The Beltbrug bridge house was built in 1933 according to a design by Pieter Lodewijk Kramer and forms an exception in his oeuvre. The building is characterized by yellow brickwork, interspersed with blocks of natural stone. Moreover, the building has a flat roof, whereas in his other designs Kramer experimented with whimsical, imaginative roof forms. Guest access Guests have access to the entire bridge house, including a double bed, a toilet, a shower and coffee & tea facilities. The entrance is unlocked with the guest's own smartphone, by making use of a mobile key app and Bluetooth. Other things to note Listen to your favourite music by connecting your phone to the provided Bluetooth speaker! A basic cleaning check is done every day. Please note that the bridge is still fully operational and might open and close during your stay. It is a unique experience to wave at the ships passing by, but be careful when going outside. Because of safety regulations, the minimum age for guests to stay at SWEETS hotel is 21. Registration Details Exempt
