Pilgrim house is the perfect place to unwind after a day of exploring, or better yet settle in for a restorative break or productive holiday. With a fully equipped kitchen, comfortable living room, large work space, high speed fiber optic, various outdoor spaces and luxurious bathrooms, you'll never want to leave! The space Pilgrim House is owned and recently restored by interior designer Lorri Kershner who has lovingly set the house up in a style that blends the spare modernist aesthetic that Marfa is known for - white adobe, concrete counters, blond pine floors, custom Garza furniture and local artwork - with warm midwestern accents - saltillo tile, cowhides, saddles! This 2 bedroom house is perfect for a couple seeking a serene escape, or a group of 4. Pilgrim can accommodate up to 5 if your 5th guest is willing to sleep on the living room couch. With four different exits out onto the yard and three separate porches, you can blur the distinction between indoor and outdoor living. The large private yard is landscaped regularly to ensure your comfort. Enjoy sunset views from the front porch, lounging in the beautifully appointed living room, and gathering to prepare meals in the spacious kitchen. We now have high-speed fiber optic, so that you can WFH comfortably while being away from home. Onsite washer and dryer are available for your use. The master bedroom has its own private entrance out onto the front porch, as well as an ensuite bathroom with a walk-in shower, and desk space. The second bedroom/library features an ensuite bathroom with clawfoot tub and European-style hand-held shower head, as well as French doors that lead out to a private little patio and then out to the yard. This room also has a smart TV from which you can log into your accounts to stream your favorite shows (for smaller groups only needing the master to sleep in, the library can function as a recreational space). Pilgrim House is located on the westernmost edge of town, right where the paved streets turn into dirt roads. We are just removed enough from the fray that you can really relax into the the serenity of the West Texas desert, but close enough that you'll never miss out! With beautiful views of the Brite ranch and immediate access to some of the best sunset walks you can do in town, we are still only a 4 minute car ride or 10 minute walk to downtown. When possible for our housekeeping team to accommodate, we offer early check ins or late check out for a $50 fee. Other things to note Please be aware that refunds will not be issued for insect sightings. We work extremely hard to keep this property clean for our guests, and ask that you be considerate of the fact that 1) Marfa is in the high desert 2) the adobe homes Marfa is so well known for are porous by nature. At certain times of the year insects (including spiders, water bugs, flies, and scorpions) are more active, and may may appear within the house on rare occasions. This is not something we can 100% guard against, and it has nothing to do with lack of cleanliness! If you have a serious phobia of insects and arachnids, please do not book this location. That being said, this space DOES NOT have an insect problem, and this disclaimer is only meant to protect us in in the very rare case of sightings.
