LIVING QUARTERS (1st Floor) Enjoy a light-filled open floor plan with soaring vaulted ceilings, wood beams and huge windows. Ocean breezes usually provide the perfect temperature, but if needed we have a heat/AC unit and an electric fireplace. LIVING ROOM Get cozy and watch shows on the 42" smart tv and relax on the two sofas that comfortably seat 6, in addition to 2 side chairs. KITCHEN Make meals in the spacious kitchen, equipped with stainless steel appliances, premium cookware and knifes. The coffee station features a top-of-the-line Technivorm Moccamaster coffee maker and Baratza grinder, plus craft coffee from Case Coffee Roasters. Also provided: gas range and stove, microwave, dishwasher and a long, granite countertop with 4 barstools. DINING ROOM Sit 6 around the dining table, with 4 more seats at the granite kitchen bar. SLEEPING QUARTERS (1st floor) Bedroom 01 Sleep two in the downstairs bedroom, featuring a new queen mattress and a luxurious linen duvet/comforter, in addition to a full closet for storage. Wood beams on the ceiling add character and charm. There is a full bath with a bathtub and shower directly off this bedroom. A USB port for easy phone-charging is available in the clock on the bedside table. SLEEPING QUARTERS (2nd floor) Bedroom 01 This breezy, large bedroom features a new king mattress, a luxurious linen duvet/comforter, a 33" smart tv, as well as a private balcony with a peek-a-boo ocean view. There is a full closet for storage and direct access to a full bath with a bathtub and shower. A USB port for easy phone-charging is available in the clock on the bedside table. Bedroom 02 This bright, charming room is perfect for kids or adults and features two new twin beds and a closet. There is direct access to the full bath with bathtub and shower. A USB port for easy phone-charging is available in the clock on the bedside table. BATHROOMS Both bathrooms provide complimentary shampoo, conditioner and body and hand soap. BACKYARD The fully-fenced, landscaped backyard offers a wrap-a-round deck for relaxing, with small ocean views and mature trees. We provide a BBQ for your use, as well as plenty of comfy patio and lounge chairs. This is a great yard for kids to play in. PATIO The large side patio features a modern fire pit with plenty of adirondak chairs for roasting marshmallows and hotdogs, with roasting sticks provided in the beach toy closet. There's lots of room for running around and playing with the corn hole set, and littles will love playing in the pea gravel with the beach toys provided. The patio also has a new OUTDOOR SHOWER and foot rinse, very convenient and necessary after a fun day at the beach or river. Drying racks for towels and wet clothes are provided. *Please note that the outdoor shower is intended for rinsing off, and is not heated. ENTERTAINMENT We offer free WiFi access throughout the house. There is a selection of local interest books, magazines and guidebooks to keep you occupied, as well as a selection of board games. Feel free to login to any of your apps like Netflix or Hulu on our 2 smart TVs. BEACH GEAR When you're heading out to the beach or river, we've got you covered with large, Turkish cotton beach towels, a variety of sand toys/buckets/shovels and 3 beach chairs. GARAGE/LAUNDRY ROOM We have a large, 2 car garage available to you for parking or storage. There is a new washer and dryer in the garage for your use, as well as a PingPong table for your enjoyment. THE LOCAL AREA The Harris Beach Bungalow is located in a quiet cul-de-sac, a few blocks from the ocean. We are on a hill, so the backyard views are not obstructed by any houses, and you can see the ocean on the horizon when it's clear. Both the Dollar General and the bike path along the coast are quick 5-10 minute walks from the house. You'll want a car to get around and drive to the nearby beaches and sights. Downtown, with all the amenities you need, is a 3 minute drive. OTHER THINGS TO NOTE Our neighbor's have two dogs, and one is a large, pure white husky named Loki. Loki likes to climb up in the large Douglas fir tree and watch over the neighborhood and look for cats. He is a rescue pup, and is very calm and actually afraid of people. We mention it because it it quite a surprise to see a large, white wolf-looking dog sitting in a tree 10-15 feet in the air. We love Loki, and call him the mascot of Harris Beach Bungalow. The entire property is available to you, so make yourself at home! The garden shed and the storage closet under the stairs are the only places "off limits". I am happy to help you with any questions. Drive 3 minutes north and you're at Harris Beach State Park, drive 3 minutes south and you're downtown Brookings, with all the shops, restaurants and amenities. If you like to walk, it's about a 15 minute walk to beach access. Located in a tranquil neighborhood close to the ocean, you'll enjoy fresh sea breezes, towering coastal cedars and small ocean views. A short 10 minute walk brings you to the bike path that follows the coast for several miles, offering stunning views of sea stacks and whale watching. Several other popular beaches, including Port of Brookings-Harbor, Mill Beach and Whaleshead Beach, are close by and waiting to be explored. The Samuel Boardman Scenic Corridor is just north of town, with tons of scenic sights and hikes, and the Chetco river offers best salmon and steelhead fishing on the West Coast. We recommend traveling by car to most locations in the area. Everything is very close, but it's best if you have a car. Most beaches have easy-to-access parking, with no fees. There is also a scenic bike path/paved walking trail nearby, and lots of walking/hiking trails in the surrounding areas. You can walk to the beach and bike path from the house, if you like longer walks. It's about a 10 minute walk to access the bike path that goes along the coast, and another 10 minute walk, fairly steep, if you want to go down the closest beach access along the bike path. It's a 25 minute walk to Harris Beach State Park from the house, or a 3 minute drive. There are 3 grocery stores under 1 mile away. WALKING DIRECTIONS TO THE BIKE PATH (10 minute walk) Walk to the beginning of the cup-de-sac and turn left on Easy St. Walk down Easy St. then turn right on 1st St. Continue down 1st St. for about 2 blocks the turn left on Ransom Ave. Walk down Ransom for 2 blocks until you reach US-101. Be careful crossing this street. You'll see the entrance to the bike path just north of you. The bike path goes for approximately 3 miles along the coast, through Harris Beach State Park, then through a lush forest. It's an out-and-back ride or walk. There are multiple side trails with beach access and viewpoints. It's a 25 minute walk from the Bungalow to the main Harris Beach access by the campground.
