Parking is on-street permit parking, we will give you the permit when you arrive. Midway between Kendal and Windermere just off the A591. The Room This is a double room in a family home, your bathroom is en suite so you have complete privacy. You will be overlooking the Main Street so great for people watching! There will be some traffic noise especially in busy summer periods but generally the village is quiet at night. Your room has a view of Craggy Fell and the ancient church tower. The Bathroom The large en suite bathroom is completely private and has a loo, basin and bath with a shower over. Breakfast Unfortunately we cannot offer breakfast. We are happy for you to use the kitchen to have breakfast and prepare basic meals - no 'proper' cooking please. You can use the microwave and can have some space in the family fridge. No very late night cooking please. Your room has tea and coffee facilities and you are literally a few minutes from fantastic cafes, a brewery, a specialist coffee house, artisan bakery, gelateria and a foodie pub! My availability We are generally around, but may not be in all day. You will have all our phone numbers and are most welcome to call if I am not around and you need something. Access The room is up one curved flight of stairs. Guest access Your Space Your room and en suite bathroom are private and you will be given a key on arrival. You can then access directly out of the front door. Kitchen You are welcome to use the family's kitchen for tea/coffee making and basic warming of food in the microwave. If you would like to use the kitchen for cooking (eg if you are booking a longterm stay) that may be possible, please inquire with us in advance. Laundry We have laundry and drying facilites which you will be welcome to use if staying longer term, please just ask. There may be a small charge to cover energy costs if you have a large amount of laundry. Garden Unfortunately we cannot offer access to the garden as it is through private quarters, however we are seconds away from public green spaces. During your stay I work through the day, so am rarely at home on weekdays. Isobel is around more than I am. We are usually in during the evenings. Other things to note Setting The room is set in the centre of a busy working village with neighbours around, so although the setting is lovely please be prepared for working life! Parking We don't have private parking, so just park as close to the house as you can. There is usually parking available on Main Street, but to park longer than an hour you need our visitor permit which we will give you. The wardens do not patrol every day but when they do they love nothing more than giving out tickets, so don't give them the satisfaction! Please remember to let us have the permit back when you leave - there are no replacements!
