Description
"Looking back at the heavens, it may be the moon that came to the mountain of Mikasa, which is Kasuga" ~ Abe no Nakamaro A traditional wooden house quietly stands at the end of a quiet residential area. It is a luxurious mountain villa where you can enjoy the beautiful Japanese landscape, such as the chirping of birds and the flowers that color the four seasons. The terrace on the south side of the 1st floor of the mountain villa is a luxurious space reminiscent of the "Tsukimida" of the Heian aristocracy. The space "Matsu" is a Japanese-style room with a study, located on the 1st floor of the Kagetsu Sanso, which can be used as a bedroom. You can relax in the two 8-tatami mat rooms, one with a large alcove and a study, and the other separated by a sliding door. Beyond the Yukimi Shoji, there is a south-facing, sunny, wide corridor, and outside the window there is a terrace with a good view, "Tsukimida". A luxurious Japanese space decorated with hand-painted fusuma paintings by a painter and a beautifully carved transom will create a special moment for you. // What is Kogetsu Sanso? // Kagetsu Sanso is a mansion built about 50 years ago, incorporating the traditional style of the wealthy farmers found in the northern Kanto region during the Edo period. It was built with the utmost care by excellent craftsmen using the best quality building materials available at the time. At the entrance, a Japanese-style glass relief and a precious tortoiseshell bamboo pillar will greet you. The reception room of the time, equipped with a mantelpiece, features a wooden mosaic on the floor, allowing you to enjoy the eclectic design of Showa. The hallway facing the inner garden is made of cedar logs over 15 meters long, and the adjoining room is decorated with hand-painted fusuma paintings by a painter and transoms with excellent carvings. Kagetsu Sanso boasts a quiet appearance that makes you forget that it is located within an hour of the city center. Once you pass through the gate, you will see a wide natural landscape isolated from other houses. Enjoy the beauty of seasonal flowers and autumn leaves, the sound of insects and the starry sky at night, and wake up with the chirping of birds in the morning. The view from the large south-facing window changes with the seasons, and you can enjoy the rich nature. Have a wonderful time with your family and friends. It is fully equipped with a living room, dining room, bath, washlet toilet, and air conditioning. We also offer hands-on lessons in Japanese traditional culture such as tea ceremony, incense ceremony, flower arrangement, kendo, and kimono (reservation required, fee charged). Guest access In addition to your bedroom (1st floor), there is an audio room, kitchen, living room (exhibition room), bathroom, toilet, etc. that are shared with other guests. The Japanese-style room (Ume) on the 2nd floor is the bedroom of other guests, so you cannot enter the room while it is in use. Other things to note The mountain villa can accommodate up to 2 groups per day, but if you book for 7 or more people, you will be able to use the entire facility privately.
