Drive up the scenic Whiteface Highway to see views of New York, Vermont and Canada, ride the gondola at Whiteface, or just hike and the nature trails or bike the country roads to see the foliage. There is no public transportation in the area. Your own vehicle is highly recommended. For winter stays, winter tires or a 4X4 is also highly recommended as the Adirondacks are prone to significant snowfalls and icy conditions. GPS advisable. There are stairs to get to the main level of the house where the kitchen and full bath are located. Area tourist brochures, closest grocery store and gas station, internet access information, etc. are in the welcome binder. Valued guests - we hope you will have an enjoyable time here and work hard to provide for guests' comfort. Please understand that we are not property managers with a lot of listings, just 1 - we are the homeowners and hosts and have a very personal stake in this home (it is our second home and come here often). We do not charge a cleaning fee and expect guests to treat this space with respect, follow the house rules and take the time necessary to clean up after yourselves, as per the check-out list. Please report any damage done - there is nothing worse than coming in to find something broken/damaged without notification. Cleaning/repairs fees will be charged if needed after check out. There is an outside security camera. The camera is directed at the driveway and not at the house.
