Tridiva - Mountain Homestay with Himalayan Views

TRIDIVA - a peaceful mountain retreat in the heart of Garhwal forests. Nestled among oak and pine forests, our home offers sweeping mountain views, quiet trails, and the simple pleasures of hill life. Stroll through the forest or a remote mountain village, plan day hikes or multi-day treks, share stories by the fire, or simply rest in silence — an invitation to slow down and connect with nature. October to June is the perfect time to visit and experience the mountains at their most magical. The space Tridiva is a cozy mountain home perched on a hill, just a 300m climb from the road — the perfect way to leave the world behind. Designed around light, space, and nature, the home features large windows, a central fireplace, natural materials, and warm, earthy colors. Vintage furniture with stories to tell adds character and charm. Spend hours on the long deck reading, bird-watching, stargazing, practicing yoga, or simply soaking in the forest magic. Wander forest trails, explore a nearby mountain village, or simply “be.” Bird lovers will delight in spotting Himalayan species right from the home, and adventurers can enjoy day hikes or multi-day treks — guided walks and forest bathing experiences are available for those who wish to immerse themselves fully. Guest access You’ll be sharing Tridiva with me — I live on the ground floor, while you’ll have access to the entire top floor. The top floor has two bedrooms with queen beds, a loft with a single mattress, a bathroom, and a terrace — comfortably accommodating up to five guests. You’ll have complete privacy and access in the upper section of the house. There’s also another bathroom on the ground floor that you can use freely. Common areas — including the living room, kitchen, dining area, deck, and garden — are shared with me. Tridiva is rented to one family or group at a time, limited to a total of five guests. If only one room is booked, and there’s a request for another bedroom or loft on the same dates, I’ll inform you before confirming that booking. During your stay Hi! I’m Meeta. Though born and raised in Mumbai, I’ve always dreamed of living in the Himalayas. In 2008, I found the perfect spot to build Tridiva. Exploring the mountains, forests, and untouched terrains over the years helped me understand the people, culture, and spirit of this pristine land. What began as planning treks and retreats for friends eventually became my life’s work. I now run a travel company, leading treks, hikes, forest walks, and wellness retreats. Photography is another passion — being outdoors gives me endless chances to capture the beauty around me. When I’m not traveling, I split my time between Tridiva and Mumbai. He prepares fresh, wholesome Indian meals, and is your go-to person for any local assistance. Other things to note 1. Walking up to TRIDIVA : - To reach Tridiva there is a 300 meters walk. After you have parked your vehicle at the designated spot on the road, there are cemented steps (approximately 150) that you have to climby to get to Tridiva. This is not at all a difficult walk but those with knee issues or other medical problems should check with me before making the booking. - Please note that we do not have wheel chair access. Accessing this property might be slightly difficult for senior citizens. Mobile senior citizens are advised to be cautious. - If you call us just before you arrive, Pradeep will be there at the road to receive you and arrange porters to carry your luggage from the road to Tridiva. 2. Network & Connectivity : Airtel and Jio are the two networks that work at Tridiva. The Jio AirFiber is used for WiFi. 3. Medical Kit: We have a basic medical and first aid kit at Tridiva. If you are on any prescription medicine please carry it with you. Though we have a chemist in the village of Talwari, all medications are not available here. 4. Doctor's / HospitalI There are a few local doctors for minor issues. Incase of any medical emergency there is the state run ambulance service (108) that transfers the patient to the closest hospital (Garud, about 1.5 hours drive). 5. Meals : - The cost is inclusive of breakfast. Pradeep our in-house chef will cook fresh, wholesome, North Indian meals, for a nominal charge of Rs 550 per person, per meal for vegetarian meals and Rs 800 per person, per meal for non-vegetarian meals. Tea and coffee is available. We do not allow guests to cook in our kitchen. All meals are prepared by either Pradeep or Meeta. - Got any special dietary requirements? Craving that special dish? Have a celebration, do let us know in advance and we will try accommodate your needs. Meal timings : Breakfast between 7:00 am and 10:00 am. Lunch between 1:00 pm and 3 pm. Dinner between 7:00 pm and 9:00 pm. 6. Pets: We do not encourage pets as we have two of our own dogs at Tridiva. 7. Eating out: The closest restaurant / dhabba is in Gwaldam which is 10km / 25 minutes drive away. 8. Safety: This locality is extremely safe and we have had no untoward incident. It is safe for single women. I live alone most of the time and have had no cause for concern. 9. Washing Machine: There is a washing machine at home, but water access and supply in the Himalayas is scarce. We do not do the washing if you are staying for less than a period of 3 days. In case of emergencies, please hand over your washing to Pradeep our care taker and he will run the machine. If you are staying longer than 3 days, Pradeep will do your laundry when he can run a full load and availability of water & electricity. The charges for running one load in the washing machine is Rs. 500/-. 10. Drinking water: We boil the drinking water and Tridiva and it is absolutely safe. We do not encourage bottled water, but it can be arranged upon request at an additional charge. 11. Use of refrigerator: You can use one shelf of the common fridge to store some food/beverages. 12. Smoking and Alcohol: Smoking is strictly not allowed inside the home. If you wish to smoke, please do so outside in the garden/lawn area. Alcohol consumption is permitted within limits. Please carry your own alcohol. We strictly do not encourage late night revelry or loud music. 13. Check-in & Check-out time: Check-in time at 2 pm and check-out time is 10 am. Please note that check-out timings are strict as we need to ready the rooms for our next booking. In case you wish to check in a little early or check out a little late, do inform us at the time of booking. 14. Footwear in the house: Taking shoes inside the home is absolutely forbidden. You can wear home slippers or socks, at home. Trekking shoes MUST be left outside the door, on the shoe rack. 15. Garbage We segregate our garbage. Since there are no recycling plants close to where we are, we request all guests to carry their dry garbage, used bottles back with them so that they can appropriately dispose them. Pradeep will pack all your dry garbage for you, so it is easy to carry back. 16. Since we do it have road access to the property, your luggage will have to be carried by labourers from the road to Tridiva and back. The luggage hauling charges are Rs. 50/- per bag which you can pay directly to the porters.
