Spacious, antique and luxurious, Somaland is the place to be to relax and allow yourself be taken care of. The Somaland Estate was created more than a hundred years ago by an immigrant from the Galle region. He arrived in these hills with nothing more than a bull cart, a Southern knack for trade and a dream. Within a relatively short time he owned the whole valley and built himself a dream estate among the trees. Antique, authentically Sri Lankan and tastefully decorated, this house feels like every owner it's had has loved it very much. Although it's old, it is very well kept and has bags of character, much of it derived from its owners. With many spacious but intimate rooms, this place is a lot bigger than it looks from the outside. Many of the original features are still present, including the detailed woodwork and the traditional Sri Lankan kitchen that is still in use today. Even the garden is full of surprises. You'll see...
