Description

Attached private studio near Tahoe City with kitchenette. The space Our studio just outside Tahoe City has a private entrance and parking for one car. There is a queen bed with all necessary linens. The bathroom is European style with toilet and sink separate from the shower/tub. There is a kitchenette with refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hot pot and some kitchen essentials. This is not a full kitchen and it is not conducive to cooking full meals. It is perfect for snacks and drinks and warming up some leftovers. There is a small flat screen TV with DVD player, a few movies and books and wireless internet. Although you will have plenty of privacy including your own separate entrance, this is attached to our home in a fairly quiet neighborhood, it is not a place for a party. The apartment is about 4 miles to Tahoe City, 9 miles to Palisades at Alpine and 11 miles to Palisades in Olympic Valley. Tahoe Cross Country is also just a couple of miles away, not to mention Northstar, Homewood and Diamond Peak etc, etc. There is a trail head at the top of the block perfect for nordic skiing, snowshoeing, sledding, snowmobiling and making angels and snowmen and a maze of great hiking in the summer, check out Watson Lake and the Tahoe Rim Trail. There is also a new 2 mile stretch of paved bike trail that connects to the main bike trail to Tahoe City and beyond. If you are interested, send me a quick message, I try to respond quickly and like to confirm availability as soon as possible. I am not taking one night reservations at this time. I am flexible with check-in/out unless it conflicts with another reservation. In that case, check-in is at 3 PM and check-out is a 11 AM. Just check with me first. Please read the house rules, house manual and “other details” before booking! Please be prepared for quick changing weather year round, but especially in the winter months! Always be prepared for possible snow and ice conditions on the road and driveway. The space is about 350 square feet, about the size of a hotel room. There is an entry way and closet for storage. This is not a cabin or a house with a yard, it is a studio with a kitchenette, not a full kitchen. Guest access Access is to the studio only. Unfortunately I ask guests to stay out of the back yard for safety concerns and privacy issues. Other things to note Winter: This is snow country, please be aware of changing weather and road conditions and be appropriately prepared. Be aware that it is illegal to park on the road November 1 - May 1 or in anyone's plowed spot that is not your own. Although we do provide ample parking, it is for ONE car only! I do have a strict refund policy even in the winter. I will not refund due to weather unless the interstate closes for a period of time. In other words, I won't refund just because it is snowing or icy unless it is a major storm and road closures limit your ability to get here. There is often ice on roadways and in the driveway even when conditions are dry. I hate to sound so harsh, but I have had many unusual cancellation requests and even had someone arrive in a snowstorm with no chains and no warm clothing! Their car got stuck in the middle of the road and they were upset with me that they were unable to make it to the house. I want my guests to be safe but I am not responsible for travel conditions. It is best to always be prepared for inclement weather. Our driveway has snow/ice on it for the majority of the winter and there is an incline on the road up to our house and a slight grade to our driveway. Spring, Summer, Fall: This is bear/raccoon/critter country. Never leave food or garbage in your car and be sure to lock the doors. The bears know how to open car doors and although pretty harmless, they will make a big mess! It has been known to snow on shoulder seasons so check the forecast before heading to the mountains anytime you travel. We have had snow as early as October and as late as June.
