Halliday's Cottage - Cozy Rutland Retreat

Halliday’s Cottage is an open plan cottage all on the ground floor, set within a shared driveway with parking space for one vehicle and a little patio area outside with seating for al fresco dining. A perfect retreat for two! The space There is a lounge area, fully equipped kitchen area, a spacious shower room and a sleeping area in a private alcove with comfy double bed and a curtain for privacy, the sofa in the lounge converts into a small double sofa bed suitable for one. WiFi internet access is available throughout. A washing machine and dryer are available for your use in a separate garage for those on longer stays. All bed linen and towels are provided. Greetham is a working village in the beautiful county of Rutland very close to Rutland Water with plenty of great country walks from the doorstep. Convenient for Stamford (15 mins) and Oakham (10 mins). There are two highly regarded pubs in the village - The Wheatsheaf (Top 50 Gastropubs UK) and The Plough, both serving excellent food (booking is recommended at both) and both are a very short walk from the Cottage. Rutland Water offers sailing, fishing, walks and cycle hire and is less than 10 minutes away. Barnsdale Gardens and Holywell Hall are less than 10 minutes away. Stretton Lakes are very close by for fishing. Greetham Valley Golf Course, driving range and Archery is 3 mins by car. The beautiful Belvoir Castle is only half an hour away. The beautiful old market town of Stamford is well worth a visit, as is Burghley House and Gardens. Guest access Your hosts Jo and Carl live on site and can meet you on arrival or you can check in using the lockbox. A safe place for bikes is available. Halliday’s Cottage is situated alongside Halliday’s Folly within a gated shared driveway. The Cottage can be booked alongside Halliday’s Folly and interconnected for a maximum of 8 guests, listed on Airbnb separately as Halliday’s House. Other things to note Parking space for one vehicle within a gated shared driveway. Please note that there is no facility for EV charging and cables through the windows are not permitted due to insurance restrictions. We welcome one dog by prior arrangement only, please be aware that there is no grassed area or secure garden however there are plenty of country walks on the doorstep and we ask that dogs are toileted offsite where possible please.
