Rothesay Cottage: Your petite suite on Cosmo.

Situated one block from Town Square, Rothesay Cottage consists of the front rooms of an original 1870s home, moved from Newbury by steam tractor in 1928. The overall style is a hybrid of 1870s and 1920s Art Deco to reflect its history. Your queen room boasts a stunning period bedroom suite complete with ensuite. Your snug (cosy lounge) includes the original operational Edwardian fireplace with a modern cupboard kitchenette. The front verandah has been enclosed to create a sunroom with daybed. The space Rothesay Cottage is an historic 3 room petite Suite on Cosmo Road, one short block from town, with its own private keypad entrance. BEDROOM & ENSUITE The bright north-facing Art Deco queen bedroom (plus ensuite) includes all natural bedding—linen sheeting and covers, options of silk, microfibre and goose feather doona and latex and feather pillows. Electric blankets are also fitted. There is a trunk filled with alternate bedding options including a microfibre doona and Tontine pillows. Cane basket in the sunroom has a feather doona. The bedroom includes a comfortable reading corner, bedside cabinets with lamps and original artworks. Electric wall panel heaters are also fitted (not pictured). The ensuite has a large shower and modern updated amenities. THE SNUG The snug (cosy lounge) features original Art Deco furnishings, an Edwardian fireplace and beautiful natural light beaming in from the adjoining sunroom. In the colder months the fire will be set, and extra firewood included. Electric wall panel heaters are also fitted (not pictured). A gate-leg table with 2 chairs can be easily utilised for desk or meals. You will find a Smart TV (with USB and HDMI) hidden for when needed. Netflix, Prime Video, Binge, Acorn, BritBox and Stan available. PETITE KITCHENETTE The kitchenette includes a small sink, bar fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, salad bowl and servers, Lavazza coffee (pod) machine, milk frother, sandwich press, a slow/fast cooker (optional), 2 cutting boards, knives and other cooking utensils. There is a small marble-topped cabinet that houses an electric flat-bed sandwich toaster, a single induction hot plate, lidded saucepan and frypan and a variety of preparation and cooking utensils. There are lidded glass containers, a rice-cooker and 2 plate covers for the microwave. Please note that the kitchenette is built into a cupboard, therefore the space is very compact, and very suitable for preparing simple meals. The adjacent cupboard provides another preparation surface as well as holding the coffee-making station. A wide selection of loose tea and teas bags , coffee, milk, Red Beard sourdough buns, butter, fresh fruit, granolas, muesli, mixed nuts and dried fruit. Condiments for the bread/toast include local honey, local jams, marmalade, Vegemite and organic peanut butter. Milk, berries and yoghurt can be found in the bar fridge. Other essentials are also supplied should you wish to cater for yourselves (olive oil, vinegar, olive oil spray, salt and pepper). SUNROOM The enclosed verandah/ sunroom features an antique cane chaise/ daybed, where you can read or snooze in the morning sun. You'll also find an electric panel heater and a basket for a doona for those chilly mornings. There is a range of books to browse as well. PRIVACY & NOISE You have the entire Suite at your disposal and a small side garden to the right of the front door. We live in the back part of the house which is separated by a sound insulated panel over a solid door covered by a thick antique rug which has been closed off for your security. Our living spaces are at the other end of the house. Guest access You will have your own private entry with keypad access to the whole separate Suite in Rothesay Cottage. The Suite includes sunroom with daybed, snug (small lounge) with open fireplace and kitchenette, and the queen bedroom with ensuite. By summer 2022, there will be access to a private hedged side-garden with access to a fire-pit, if requested (when not a total fire-ban) and seating. Other things to note I can send through to you details about the following to allow for you to plan your time here. This could include dining-in and take-away options. I can email information through concerning nurseries/gardens, village or town shopping, local Farmers' Markets, art galleries, workshops, spa experiences, walking trails, local pubs (some have a courtesy bus) and wineries. I will be providing basic breakfast/munchie items. If you have any special requirements e.g. gluten free, full cream or light milk, almond/rice/soy/oat milk, or vegetarian/vegan/keto please let me know in advance and I will endeavour to supply them for you.
