The space Our well-appointed, fully refurbished apartment is on the first floor of a small period tenement block, on a cobbled road, which dates from 1778. Thistle Street is the oldest street in the New Town of Edinburgh and is part of UNESCO's World Heritage Area. The apartment's central location makes it the perfect starting point for experiencing the best of Edinburgh, whether you are a young, or an older couple, visiting for business or looking for a central base from which to explore. It is the perfect Edinburgh pied a terre. PLEASE NOTE: This apartment permits NO smoking. Neither inside the apartment, nor in the stairwell. The apartment itself: The interior is an eclectic mix of old and new: classic with a modern twist; stylishly decorated and furnished in a timeless fashion. Expect all the comforts of a sophisticated yet cosy home, a comfortable sleep and plenty of space for a couple to relax and plan their next Scottish adventure. The bedroom: is large and spacious and well appointed with a double brass bed that has an extremely comfortable orthopaedic mattress. The bedroom has been refurbished to a luxurious standard and one can sleep peacefully with its secondary glazing, a blind and block-out curtains. The bed includes good quality bed-linen and a choice of comfortable pillows and towels. A small cleaning fee is within the charge. All linen, towels, gas and electricity is included in the price. The en suite bathroom has a power shower and the combi boiler gives constant hot water on demand throughout the apartment. There is a second guest loo and basin. Living area: There is a comfortable leather couch and an armchair. Radiators and attractive heaters ensure warmth on those winter days. The large, airy windows have versatile, workable shutters. The living area is an artistic open-plan space with a well-equipped, fitted kitchen boasting a wide range of utensils and equipment including an electric hob, oven, fridge and dishwasher. There is a large breakfast bar/kitchen counter for those who wish to dine in. You will have all the kit you need to cook. Thoughtful amenities, including iron, washing machine and hairdryer, are all on hand to complete this home from home. There will be a welcome pack including tea, coffee, soaps and shampoo. Late night convenient stores are close by for any emergency goods. The armchair has been conveniently placed, surrounded by art works, a reading lamp and a selection of books and magazines to read. There is a secure key box available for your convenience. The apartment itself is on an easily accessed first floor within a traditional Edinburgh stairwell in the tenement block. The entire apartment is for your use. Smoking is NOT permitted. Other things to note 1. Check in time is from 2pm but we try to be as flexible as possible. We can usually accommodate late arrivals, just let us know well in advance. Check out is at 10:00am. 2. Smoking is strictly forbidden.
