Idyllic 200 year old thatched cottage set in the Wiltshire Downs in the village of Oare between Marlborough and Pewsey. Has garden and surrounded by open countryside. Ideal for a romantic break for two. Relax in front of a roaring open fire. Parking at back of cottage. The space 200 year old thatched cottage with real fire set within the open countryside, surrounded by fields with a large garden. The cottage is in an ideal area for cycling and walking; the Kennet and Avon Canal is within walking distance, as well as a range of country pubs offering home-cooked food. Historic market town Marlborough is a ten minute drive away offering a twice weekly market, boutique shops and a wide selection of cafes, restaurants and pubs. The large village of Pewsey also offers shops, pubs and cafes. The ancient World Heritage site of Avebury, the largest stone circle in Europe, is just a ten minute drive away with Stonehenge just a 30 minute drive away. The beautiful city of Bath is also just an hour's drive away. The mainline station of Pewsey is only five minutes away by car, one hour by train from London Paddington and on the mainline to Exeter, Plymouth and Penzance. Regular bus service from outside the house to Pewsey, Marlborough, Swindon and Salisbury. The cottage is ideal for a couple or solo traveller as it has one main double bedroom. The cottage does have a single bed in an adjacent room but please note you walk through one room to get to the other. Guest access Own garden and parking. Access cottage from car park into back door to Kitchen. Front door off sitting room leads to lovely garden with table and chairs and a gate into the surrounding fields. Other things to note I can offer two bedrooms; a bedroom with a double bed and an adjoining room with one single bed. However, please note you have to walk through the single bedroom to get to the master bedroom and the stairwell is open into the single room so unsuitable for very small children.
